Real authentic afghan food. The meat is halal and dishes are decent size. I'm an Afghan an know my food. The Bolani and Mantu is a must try at this place . Very delicious and I ordered the Qabili and kabob. The rice is average but the kabob was good. It's a bit pricy but San Diego is usually expensive compared to LA or OC. Great service and I've been here three times and the they always are consistent compared to other Afghan restaurants like Kabul west where it's hit and mess.. overall a nice place and good atmosphere.
Restaurant is too much expensive and Over taxes was charged on us and the food was served properly but the taxes and prices which they charge are too much it was a worst experience and the menu was not properly arranged 😠ðŸ˜
We got qabli pillar, chicken and beef kabob . Each item was really good , and fresh
It was ok. Not that great! For the medium quality of food, i think it\'s expensive. I won\'t go back to here.
When we visited we were verbally assured by owners that it is halal. We didn't check any credentials and they do serve alcohol. We ordered sambosa for appetizers which were excellent, followed by lamb chops (also excellent, definitely recommend) and chicken with kabuli pulao which was average. They did give us complimentary dessert (firni) which was also excellent. Ambience is very nice, good decor. Good place for family, however, like mentioned before they do serve alcohol.
Very nice environment. Went their with my parents on my visit to San Diego. Food was excellent and staff was very friendly. Menu was good. Went their again after couple of days with some guest. Waiter Ehsan with his pleasant smile and hospitality added to all the good stuff. He served complimentry dessert on our first visit and special afghan qehwa(tea) on 2nd visit. Must visit place.
It is zabihah but restaurant caters to non Muslims more alcohol is served. Expensive small portions but nice seating area. food is good.
The food was excellent. Especially the kabuli palow and the grilled entrees. Owner came to our table to welcome us. Decor was beautiful. Will definitely visit again.
Food is great. No halal sign. Checked with owner who verbally assured that it's "zabihah Halal", nice place and good food. Food and naan were fresh. Enjoyed it. Can take family again.
Best afghan food in California! Wonderful service and the naans were fresh and delicious. The tea was also great and a very generous serving. The chutneys were excellent too. We had the mantu, karhai chicken, and mutton kabob (served w three different types of rice) and all were phenomenal
The Halal Board of San Diego found out that this resturant does NOT server Zabihah food.
I was told over the phone that they have halal food and they also sell alcohol. I can not trust someone who does both. Alcohol and halal food doesn't go hand in hand.
I was visiting San Diego and this resturant recommended to me by a local muslim brother. Ambience is nice, they did confirm meat was halal. Portions are reasonably sized and food quality was good.
We confirmed via phone the food is not halal.
I did not actually eat there as I just checked out the atmosphere which did not seam halal at all. They serve alcohol and I don't think that goes hand in hand with serving halal meat.
"This place is the worst restaurant I've come across on the zabihah website, it doesn't deserve to even be listed. We walked in enquiring about halal meat, the servers had no idea what we were talking about. They serve alcohol. The quantity of served food was poor; we ordered main courses and were horrified to see the amount sitting in our plates. Although the owner promised it was halal, we were still not so sure about it. The area is really not appropriate for a nice Muslim family. Go there at your own risk!"
The food is very expensive and the service varies from time to time. The owner is very slippery and ill-mannered and charges you for things you did not order. The meat is probably not halal as the owner is not religious himself.
Although not excellent, it was pretty good and the service was good. Be prepared to have a leisurely meal. Ambiance and atmosphere was good. Mostlty locals in the dining room. Fairly pricey, portions were good.
This is establishment is not halaal according to Zabihah standards. Please note this so as to not mislead Muslims.
