⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited The Best Broasted Willesden (17 Walm Ln, London NW2 5SJ) with a friend and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. This place has the most welcoming, cozy Syrian restaurant vibe both outside and inside you immediately feel at home, like you’re sitting in Syria eating with family and friends. The decor is warm and authentic, and the smiling, friendly staff make you feel genuinely looked after. We started with the crunchy shawarma wrap starter platter, and wow – it was incredible. The wraps were perfectly toasted and packed with flavour, but what really elevated it was the pomegranate molasses sauce drizzled around it. That sweet-tangy, rich sauce balanced everything beautifully and made every bite addictive. The texture contrast between the crunchy outer wrap and the juicy, well-seasoned filling inside was spot on. Honestly, I could have eaten several of these! Of course, we had to try their signature spicy broasted chicken, and it completely lived up to the hype. They’re clearly known for it, and for good reason – this is hands down the best Syrian broasted chicken in the UK. I went for the spicy version (you can get it non-spicy too, but I highly recommend spicy – it’s to die for!). The chicken pieces are massive, bigger than the size of your hands. When you bite in, the hot sauce gushes out because it’s injected right into the succulent meat, just like a filled pancake – so juicy and saucy! The coating is perfectly seasoned and crispy so you can hear the crunch from a mile away. It’s flavourful and just explodes with taste. The meal comes with these amazing crunchy seasoned chips/fries that are visibly loaded with spices straight out the fryer – you can see the seasoning on them! They also give you two incredible sauces on the side. If I could steal the recipes for those two sauces I absolutely would – they’re not your regular mayo or ketchup; they’re unique, perfectly balanced, and complement the chicken so well it’s unreal. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices are ridiculously good and won’t break the bank at all. After my first visit I’ve now been back five more times, even though I don’t live in London – I happily travel from another city because it’s that good. There’s also plenty of parking available on the many side roads nearby. If you’ve never tried Syrian fried chicken or you’re just looking for proper, authentic, flavour-packed broasted chicken, this is a must-go spot and a must-have experience. They also have seating outside with heating so you can eat there whatever the weather. The Best Broasted Willesden is the real deal – 10/10, highly recommended!
