As someone whose native place is right next to Erode where TKU originated, I was incredibly excited to try their San Antonio location! Back home, I rarely had the chance to visit, so having one right here in the USA is a fantastic opportunity. I’ve already been here multiple times—both with my office colleagues and with friends—and most of the time, the food has been great. The Dosa and chutneys are excellent and have that authentic Tamil Nadu style! I do have a few preferences and constructive suggestions for improvement: - Biryani & Meat: The meat pieces in the biryani are a bit too large, and the masala doesn't quite penetrate the meat. It feels like the base and meat might be prepared separately and mixed later. It would taste much better if the meat and rice were cooked together, allowing the flavors to blend perfectly. - Non-Veg Meals: The same goes for the non-veg meals—smaller, more bite-sized meat portions would be ideal. - Tea: The tea should be served piping hot rather than warm or medium-hot. - Menu: It would be great to see an extended, full menu available instead of just a limited 'soft lunch' menu. - Service: The service needs to be more proactive. Many times, we found ourselves having to chase down the waiters just to place our order or get the check, rather than them checking in on us. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for authentic flavors, and with a few minor tweaks to the meat prep and menu variety, it would be absolutely perfect!
