Barcelos opened its first store in Pretoria, South Africa in 1993. Using recipes mastered by the Portuguese hundreds of years ago, our flame grilled flavours became so popular that we franchised the business in 1998. Since then we have opened outlets in 16 countries including SA, Lesotho, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, Canada, UK, Dubai, Oman, Mauritius, Singapore, and soon in Pakistan, India & Qatar.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. Selected Barcelos locations are certified Halal by ICSA.
walked past looking at the menu from the outside and the staff were friendly enough to welcome us in and take our order even though they were close to closing time, the waiting wasn't that long at all, roughly about 20 min and the food was fantastic!!! the chicken was soft and had the right amount of spiciness to it, would definitely recommend Barcelos.
