Founded by Sajjad Shah, the "Muslims of the World" page started during a time of high anti-Muslim sentiment to share humanizing personal stories. The entire food menu is certified halal, featuring savory items like butter chicken or beef empanadas and sweet Arabic pastries like baklava and pistachio birdnests.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. MOTW Coffee & Pastries operates as a fully halal cafe chain where the entire menu of specialty drinks, pastries, and savory food is 100% halal.
My first time trying this place out, and overall great. It’s a halal cafe with some unique menu items, which is a fun change. It was pretty bustling at 3:30 on a sunday but I got my order almost instantly. Atmosphere: Playing fun music, so a bit more lively than a regular cafe. Decor was modern with some nice murals. Seating: regular tables with 4 seats per and a couch area with 2 two couches. There is also seating outside in the back. Amenities: 1 bathroom Self service stand for utensils, sugar and Free Water. Staff: Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Food and drink: they offer savory and sweet options for both food and drink. I Got the green blue raspberry tea refresher on the recommendation of the cashier and it was good. I also got the peach mouse and a chicken empanada. Empanada was super good (and super hot- be warned!) the peach mouse was nice and light and flavorful. Logistics: They have Front and back entrances. There is no parking out front on Willard, you will need to use the free lot behind the building on Bates.
