Every menu item is made fresh and made to be one of the best you've ever tasted. Shelby's is a fast casual shawarma chain born in London, Ontario, on a mission to modernize the shawarma in unspeakable ways while also helping to spread happiness and the appetite for good food and good flavour in communities.
A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises. From the management: 'Shelby’s proudly serves 100% hand-slaughtered Halal meat at all our locations, ensuring adherence to Islamic dietary laws. We source all of our hand-slaughtered protein options from reputable suppliers from across Ontario.'
I came here to try the shawarma after seeing a lot about Shelby’s online. I told the cashier it was my first time here and they were super polite and helpful in walking me through the menu. They have a surprising number of options available for protein, both meat and vegetarian, and a variety of toppings and sides. I got the Shelby’s famous shawarma bowl with beef and a side of fries. It wasn’t immediately obvious when I ordered that beef costs an extra $2 over other proteins but that was probably my doing and still worth it. The shawarma itself was really fresh and well seasoned and the toppings were equally good. The fries were also close to gold standard, being fresh, crispy, and seasoned. The inside is also nice with iconic branding, however there’s very few seats so you might wanna consider take out. Overall, I think the shawarma can in fact be considered “legendary” and I’ll be back to try more.
