Chaiiwala began in Leicester in 2015 with a simple, almost stubborn idea: bring the cardamom-and-ginger karak our founders grew up with, the cup served in family kitchens and roadside dhabas across South Asia, to the British high street, properly. No syrups. No shortcuts. A seven-spice blend, whole milk, slow brewing, pulled long the way it’s done back home. The first store opened its doors in Leicester, and the queue made the case. People weren’t just looking for a chaii, they were looking for the cup that meant home. Ten years on, we’re 115 stores strong across the UK, Canada and growing, pouring over 100 million cups, and still brewing each one the way our founders learned in Mumbai.

Hey there! I’m new to the neighborhood, so I decided to take a walk and somehow ended up discovering Chai Wala. From the moment I walked in, the vibe pulled me in. The host was warm, welcoming, and helped me pick the perfect order. I started with a hot chai and a strawberry banana crepe… and wow every bite, every sip, perfect. I ended up staying about 40 minutes, just soaking it all in, before grabbing an iced milk tea with boba to go (which was just as amazing) and another crepe. The whole experience felt like one of those unexpected “main character” moments, fully present, completely in the moment. It even inspired me to walk next door and treat myself to a dozen red roses. What started as a simple walk turned into a beautiful, unforgettable little chapter of my day. Thanks ChaiWala, I’ll be back!
