Alhamdulillah, Al Kahf Restaurant has proudly reached its 11th year of serving authentic Somali cuisine. From the very beginning, Al Kahf has been committed to introducing the rich flavours and traditions of Somali food to people from all walks of life. Over the years, we have welcomed customers from many different cultures, helping Somali cuisine gain the recognition it deserves. Our journey has been recognised by the media, with three newspapers featuring Al Kahf's story. We were also honoured to be visited by the well-known food creator Halal Food Guy, whose review introduced our restaurant to an even wider audience. Today, there are many excellent Somali restaurants, and some may even surpass us in different ways. We celebrate their success because it reflects the growing appreciation of Somali cuisine. We remain grateful to Allah for allowing Al Kahf to be among the pioneers who helped bring authentic Somali food to a wider community. Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout these 11 years. We look forward to welcoming you for many more years to come, Insha'Allah.
Visited after Friday Jummah prayer a few weeks ago and the restaurant was packed very quickly and I could understand why having eaten here now. The waiter was very attentive and welcoming. There is seating downstairs as well as ladies only dining area. A warm and cosy setting. Ordered the Mandi platter for two. The food was delicious and full of flavour. The lamb shank fell off the bone and was so tender. The chicken was succulent with crispy skin. The bisbas (green) sauce complimented the dish and I loved it! It was hot and spicy. It added another dimension of flavour to the dish. Would highly recommend to everyone wishing to try Somali food at a reasonable price to come to this restaurant.
