I stopped by Nomad Café for lunch after seeing the positive reviews and decided to give it a try. The biggest highlight of my visit was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, and I witnessed a genuinely heartwarming moment while I was there. A young girl came in to purchase something but was about $0.70 short when paying cash. The employee working the register quietly covered the difference out of her own pocket so the girl could get what she wanted. It was a small gesture that spoke volumes about the kindness of the team. Unfortunately, the food itself left me disappointed. We ordered two club sandwiches and two refreshers, which came to approximately $58. At $18.50 per sandwich, I was expecting something a little more substantial and fresh. Instead, the bread was only lightly toasted and became soggy, the chicken was quite chewy, the bacon was softly cooked, and the tomato was mushy. The sandwiches were also served with plain Ruffles chips placed in a separate takeout container, which felt underwhelming considering the price point. It's unfortunate because there are several local sandwich shops that offer fresher, more impressive sandwiches for less money. While I truly appreciated the kindness of the staff, the overall food quality and value didn't meet my expectations, and I don't think I'll be returning.
