As a young bright chef and business man, Sam Osmow took over Polar Submarine as his own business. Sam experimented with his own recipes and came up with truly delicious meals. He soon felt the need to work on changing the whole concept of the restaurant - making it a business he can easily relate to. He reopened up as Osmow's, a truly Mediterranean restaurant at 251 Queen Street South, Unit 1, Mississauga, thereby presenting his new healthy and mouth watering meal selections.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. Osmow's states that their meats are sourced from central halal-certified suppliers and that all of its meat is hand-slaughtered.
We stopped by this Osmow's near Edmonton Airport for a quick lunch during our trip with friends and family. The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived, and the customer service was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the chicken shawarma, but it was not ready at the time of ordering. They asked us to wait a few minutes, and it was prepared afterward. The chicken was feozen and then heated on the flat grill, which was okay, the overall taste was just average, did not feel the freshness.. I ordered 'chicken nn the rocks', and the rice was not cooked perfectly - it felt like it was missing something. The cleanliness was average. The tables and store area could have been cleaner, and the atmosphere was just okay. Overall, it was an average experience. The service was good, but the food quality and preparation could be improved.
