@theateriesg on instagram & @theateries.sg on tiktok! @pondokjawatimur | a true taste of javanese cuisine. we love a good indonesian cuisine & certainly a wallet-friendly one! went down to PLQ for a halal javanese feast @pondokjawatimur & we left with full tummies & happy smiles 🥰 here’s what we tried: • nasi kuning ayam ($14.90) • nasi goreng jawa ($9.90) • sayur lodeh ($9.90) 🌟 sate ayam ($9.90) • ayam penyet ($10.40) • avocado juice ($6.90) the show-stopper was definitely those tender chicken satays drenched in savoury peanut sauce 🤤 we simply can’t stop going for seconds!! the generous amount of chicken thighs was extremely soft & well-marinated! so addictive, so so good!! the ayam penyet was really crispy & juicy too! we loved the addition of crispy bits for that extra crunch & extra satisfaction 🤌🏼 we also wiped out the nasi goreng jawa that had the perfect rice texture & seasoning to teleport us to that heavenly fried rice paradise! don’t forget their avocado juice that was so rich & flavourful. paired so well with the chocolate sauce, this was the perfect thirst-quencher for the heat 🥑 finally, we ended the feast off with es teler — topped generously with jackfruits, avocado & coconut — because #balancedmeal overall, we give this a 7️⃣.5/10! conveniently located at the second floor of PLQ, @pondokjawatimur presents an inclusive & wallet-friendly javanese experience! the cozy dining space & warm service also made the dining experience an even better one that it already was 🫶🏻
