I was really craving Indonesian food and drove nearly an hour to try this place. Sadly, the whole experience was very disappointing. When I arrived, I was told that only the items on the printed menu were available, not the ones shown online or on their page. Almost everything I planned to order wasn’t available, including the special drinks and durian desserts. I was told they had only been open a few weeks, but their Instagram says they started in February. It felt misleading and confusing. The food was honestly terrible. The satay didn’t resemble satay at all, it was just dry chicken with an overpowering turmeric taste. The peanut sauce was cold, dry, and clearly straight from the fridge, no flavor, no freshness. The rice with fried chicken was carelessly prepared, and the chicken itself seemed like it hadn’t been properly cooked or seasoned. The kuey teow goreng was dry, bland, and completely lacking taste. Even the sambal, which should bring the meal to life, was sour and tasted undercooked. There was no balance, no authenticity, just poor execution across the board. I’ve been to Indonesia a few times and have had authentic Indonesian food in other countries too. This was not it. It’s a shame to see such a poor representation of Indonesian cuisine especially in a western country, where first impressions matter.
