I saw some reviews saying that Edmond is "no ____"/"despite being halal" (which is about the most backhanded compliment I can think of.) Well, hard disagree, or perhaps, agree. Edmond is in a class of its own with very fragrant and savoury rice (he doesn't try to puff up the grains with water like some sellers), tasty chicken meat that is never dry or tough (I don't know what this other 1-star rater ate), and a special soy sauce that makes clever use of subtly infused fried garlic, among other things. On top of that, the portions are big, although prices start slightly higher than a typical hawker chicken rice stall. The end result is always very satisfying, and instead of just getting any old chicken rice, Edmond is actually something you treat yourself to. Sure, you can go for more expensive chicken rice that is "branded* and maybe even tastier. But why be such a slave in capitalism's maw? When the trials of this materialistic life get me down, I just go to Edmond's. Try it too, there's literally no comparison.
