I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Prince’s Hot Chicken location. I grew up eating Prince’s, so it genuinely hurts to write this review, but this visit was unacceptable. I ordered two chicken tender combos, and both orders were terrible. The chicken tenders were noticeably smaller than they used to be, extremely overcooked, hard, and dry. They had very little flavor and were difficult to eat. The blue cheese dipping sauce was cold, but it also tasted like it was beginning to go bad. It had an unusually sour, tangy taste that made me stop eating it immediately. The dining area wasn’t much better. The tables were sticky, and I had to ask an employee to come wipe ours down before we could eat. The employee was polite and cleaned it right away, but customers shouldn’t have to ask for clean tables. The fries were one of the worst parts of the meal. My daughter immediately said they tasted bad. When I picked one up and lightly squeezed it, grease literally coated my fingers. The fries were dark brown, greasy, and looked old. I took them back to the counter and explained that they didn’t look presentable. They replaced them, but the second batch was still very dark and tasted old, just with less grease. It gave the impression that the first batch had been sitting in grease for a long time. To make matters worse, every fountain drink we tried was flat. That made us question whether the drink machines were being maintained properly. The most frustrating part is that this isn’t our first bad experience at this location. We’ve had problems here before, and in the past we’ve even requested fresh food because we’ve repeatedly been served food that tasted old. We were assured fresh food would be made, but the quality never reflected that. At this point, I have completely lost confidence in this location. It feels like there is no quality control and no pride in the food being served. Prince’s Hot Chicken has a long-standing reputation in Nashville, and it’s disappointing to see that reputation being damaged by experiences like this. After today’s visit, I will never return to this location, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to anyone. I sincerely hope management takes these complaints seriously, because this restaurant is not living up to the Prince’s name.
