As luck would have it, the Arabic version of our signage at the time read only 'Abu Omar Halal (not taco)' and the name soon stuck! In those early days, our truck served mostly halal tacos, but we quickly discovered that our chicken shawarma was a customer favorite. Since then, we have focused almost entirely on Mediterranean classics, including our specialty shawarma.

Been here several times and each time, Abu Omar Halal has never disappointed! The shawarmas are my go-to item, having tried the chicken and brisket varieties, as well as the lamb gyro, and they are all beyond delicious. Surprisingly, the fries are always perfect too!! The tahini is my favorite sauce here, it goes with everything so well. The staff is so friendly and helpful, place is clean, and the ambiance is great too! If you're looking for the perfect shawarma joint, this is the place you should go--you won't regret it.
