South Bay Afghan Islamic Community Center

A mosque and Islamic school located in a warehouse behind a hotel on Monterey Highway, just south of Capital Expressway. Though not ascetically pleasing, this is a dedicated group of mostly older Afghan refugees. On June 26, 2012, they purchased this space, which they had been renting for about 16 years. The community works hard to provide a place for prayer, a gathering space for special events, and a Sunday school from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm teaching Dari, Arabic and Qur'an.
