Essalam Moskee

The Essalam Moskee is a large mosque in Rotterdam's Feyenoord district, near the De Kuip football stadium. The mosque is the largest mosque in the Netherlands and Europe. During the construction from 2003 to 2010, the mosque encountered many problems. The mosque is its size strongly determines the facial area. The dome is 25 meters high and the minarets are 50 meters high. The original Essalammoskee was founded in 1987 but soon became too small for the 2,500-strong community. The Essalam Moskee opened on December 17, 2010.
