University of Bath Islamic Society

The BUIS aims to look after the needs and welfare of Muslim students in the campus environment, promote brotherhood and tolerance between Muslims and non-Muslims, and promote awareness about Islam, the most misunderstood yet fastest growing religion, amongst people from all backgrounds. The Society organizes educational and recreational activities which reflect the Islamic faith and values, and can offer a number of services to members (Halal meat issues etc). Our activities range from holding daily jamaah prayers, Friday prayers during University terms and weekly lessons to learn the recitation of the Holy Qur'aan. Our activities also include social events like Eid parties and Iftars (dinners in Ramadan), to educational talks and inspirational video lectures. We have a prayer room on campus, a peaceful place to pray, read Qur'aan, relax and meet some friendly faces.
