Originally constructed in 1903 to accommodate 500 worshipers, this mosque has been renovated many times and now attracts more than 1200 worshippers for Friday and Eid prayers. Masjid Haji Muhammad Salleh sits on a piece of waqaf land within the bustling Central Business District. The mosque is flanked to the left by the elevated East Coast Parkway and on its right by Mount Palmer, upon which sit two shrines for Habib Noh and Habib Abdul Rahman.
