Mosquée d'Evry-Courcouronnes

Rue Georges Brassens, Courcouronnes, Essonne

Sunni (Traditional)

The Grand Mosque of Evry is one of the largest in Western Europe, and is based on Moroccan architectural forms. It has a large prayer room that can accommodate many hundreds of people (Evry has approximately 15,000 Muslims). The mosque was partly funded by the Moroccan King, and it stands opposite the Cathedral, as a symbol of co-existence.
