The purpose of the Iowa City Mosque is to carry out religious, educational, and charitable activities in the Iowa City area, in conformity with the pure teachings of Islam, based upon the Noble Quran, the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him), and as understood and applied by his companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and those that followed them in excellence from the next two generations.

Stopped by after an interview. The masjid was large. Cleanliness-wise, the bathrooms were not in the best of condition. To get inside the masjid I had to go through the sister\'s side so if you get there and it\'s locked, try the back door.

Masha'Allah very nice masjid. Community is very welcoming and friendly. The daily prayers are usually well attended considering relatively small population of the community. Masjid is very focused on the Sunnah. Imam warns strongly against bidah (innovations in the deen).
