5245 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, FL
Masjid Al-Ansar is one of the oldest mosques in South Florida. Together with Masjid Ibrahim, it is closely affiliated with a predominately African-American organization, Mosques Cares. Early in its history, the building for Masjid Al-Ansar was originally a church before it was purchased by Muslims in 1968.

Saw this masjid while driving down the highway, really glad that I stopped in! Strong and tight-knit community with lots of activities like community dinners and social events. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming!

Passing through MIA on Tuesday, 25 May 2010. Took the bus to this masjid hoping to be able pray dhuhur. I was about an hour or so early. While making wudu outside a sister walked up, rang the bell, and was let inside. Once finishing wudu I did the same and was told that this "was a closed Masjid because it has a school", and that it wouldn't be open to the public for dhuhur salaat. The brother I spoke with did give me a ride down the street to Masjid Ibrahim which he thought might be open for dhuhur. May Allah reward him for his kindness.

Really good Imam but Jumu'ah takes a whole lot longer than usual. If you decide to pray Jamaat there, it's pretty difficult.
