Masjid An-Nur

The masjid is recently built in the past 15 years. It is clean and well kept. The wudu areas and bathrooms are clean. However I personally do not like praying Jumma here. As soon as the jamaat is completed, people stand up all around you and start talking as if its a bus station. Even though I live closest to this masjid, I will go out of my way to pray Jumma at the masjid on Parker street, or at UB with the MSA students. The partitioned area for sisters is small and fills up fast for Jumma and Tarawia prayers. It's just not my first choice for Jumma prayers. But the khutbah usually starts at 1:30 and the jamaat stands up at 2pm.

Very nicely maintained

Lovely masjid with a great imam. There is an Islamic school on the premises (the Universal School). There is ample parking and it is fully handicap accessible. Many evening and weekend programs and special events.

Very nice Masjid, adequate accomodations. Sunday School and Full-time Islamic School on the premises. Only drawback is sometimes nationalistic and political agendas become an issue.
