Nida-ul-Islam Center

250 Hargreaves Avenue, Teaneck, NJ

Sunni (Traditional)

This is a red brick mosque. Ten years ago, Nida-ul-Islam purchased land in Teaneck, NJ to build an Islamic Center. Due to unjust legal problems brought up by the town and state, efforts to complete the project were stalled for a number of years. Even though they did not have a masjid, its members still rigorously tried to educate themselves and the Muslim youth of this community about Islam. Over the years, Nida-ul-Islam held classes for Islamic studies and organized ijtamas, conferences, and fairs. Alhumdulillah, due to their efforts an Islamic awareness has developed among the people of the community, particularly the youth, many of who have gone on to further educate themselves about Islam. Students have studied various Islamic sciences as well as the Arabic language.

A very nice masjid, it's been here for a few years and still very active as of January 2011. There is a parking lot, bathrooms are fine. I came here with my wife a few months back for Isha and the men prayed in the main hall (downstairs) while she prayed in the kitchen, with a wall dividing the two spaces. It sounded strange to me but there are prayer rugs in there and it's a perfectly fine area to pray.

This is a beautiful, cozy and well-kept mosque in the vibrant Teaneck community. The bathrooms and wudhu areas are very clean and attractive. The Imam is very knowledgeable, he is a mufti. The masjid has two assistant Imams who lead the prayer during Mufti Saheb's absence. There is also a full-time hifz school in this masjid, which provides state-certified secular education up to the 8th grade. There is also an Alimah Course (Islamic education for females). This masjid also has a great and vibrant environment during Ramadhaan. Many people come from other communities to perform i'tikaaf here, an there is an annual 3 night shabina (completion of Quran) in which many people attend. This masjid is part of the very famous Eid Committee, comprised if Darul Islah, Minhajul Quran, and Nida Ul Islam.
