this masjid is nothing like a mosque. too much politics and less deen. its more of a musical centre than masjid. may Allah guide us all. ameen.

IMO is one of the more active islamic centers in the GTA. It consists of an entire wing of a large office building that has been redone as a masjid. Looks quite spacious and elegant, albeit not necessarily very Islamic in decor. Imam Slimi is the in-house Imam and he is apparently some kind of a scholar, so he does many programs and even produces some Islamic literature. There is quite a bit of housing in and around IMO, which is good, plus there are the two unignorable giant commerical enterprises within walking distance. WALMART and HABIB's ISLAMIC BOOKSTORE. One could happily live in that area just for those two, forget IMO!

i usually only go to this masjid when i'm in the area. i'm not too fond of it due to the amount of free-mixing that goes on during events like fundraisers and lectures. it is one of the larger masjids in the toronto area, with a large and spacious musallaa for the men. the sisters pray to the rear of the musallaa and are separated by a 3-4' high wooden dividing wall. the washrooms and wudoo' areas are nicely constructed and are usually kept clean - unlike many other masjids.

I've only been here for Juma, but it seems to be a popular musjid. There was barely any parking available before the prayers. The Khutbahs were fine, and the although there seemed to be a larger number of West Indian muslims, there were other ethnicities there as well.
