I visited United Muslim Masjid when I was in Philly for a short vacation. The masjid is clean. Sandals and tissues are available for wudhu. A brother in the masjid named Shahied is very friendly.

Decent masjid located in south Philly. Open for most prayers. Most of the brothers inside seemed friendly and welcoming.

Update: Imam Luqman is no longer the imam at this masjid (though he remains active in other projects in the Philly area).

I have been going to this masjid for taraweeh and I feel right at home. Imam Luqman Ahmed (formerly imam of a masjid in Sacramento and frequent speaker at Zaytuna) really is a great leader for the community and very knowledgeable masha Allah. I enjoy his post-4-rakat taraweeh talks and I think others do too. The masjid is clean and warm. It is surrounded by several centers/businesses run by Muslims. These institutions are helping develop that part of South Philly.

This masjid is organized, clean, the imam is knowledgeable and down-to-earth, and the people are very friendly, alhamdulillah. I would highly recommend it for anyone in Philly!

Very tight knit community that welcomed me with open arms! Diverse array of brothers and sisters from various backgrounds. Outstanding Jum'a services with thought provoking Khutbahs. Lots of opportunities to get involved in the community programs. A growing, vibrant community!
