Masjid Al-Hidaya
2339 15th Street, Troy, NY
The Muslim Community of Troy (Masjid al-Hidaya) started from the students of Rensselaer Polytech Institute who rented a small room to perform their daily prayers. By 1986 the room became too small and the community purchased a two story house. The first floor of that house was converted into a Masjid and the second floor into classrooms for weekend school, youth and adult education, and other activities. For the last fifteen years the community increased significantly and out grew the current facility. Due to the lack of enough space, major activities such as Jumah, Seminars, Eid prayers, Community Iftars and other activities are held on RPI campus.

In response to brother iahmed91's comments For your information, Jumuah Prayers are held at RPI armory, which is just a few blocks south along the same street (15th st) from the masjid. This is because like the brother said the mosque is to small to accomodate a large Jamaah for Jumuah prayers. For more information on prayer times/updates, you can visit the mosque's website at http://www.al-hidaya.com/news.php Hope the brother would be able to join us for Jumuah sometime in the future. Thanks =)

Went to this masjid for Jumuah over the Christmas holidays (after a 50 min trip from Williamstown, MA where we were visiting family) but unfortunately there was no Jumuah. I did call the number and there was no recording about Jumuah -- but I took a chance. Alhamdullilah, I was able to pray Zuhr instead in the parking lot at the back. The masjid looks nice from the outside. Parking is limited -- perhaps 4-5 spots in the back and the rest will need to be street parking. I was not able to go inside since it was locked.
