Islamic House of Wisdom
22575 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, MI
Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi established the Islamic House of Wisdom in 1995. In 1996, the congregation was moved from its original Schaefer location to a larger mosque on Ann Arbor Trail in order to accommodate the growing membership. This new building originally housed two Christian organizations, the Fairlane Assembly Church and Detroit World Outreach. The mosque is devoted to its outreach and community service programs, and holds several community and interfaith events.

I recently attended IHW during Ashoura. They were very lovely and I truly enjoyed being there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I sent an email to the office staff it was answered right away. Imam Elahi's wife answered it in further detail when she wasn't satisfied with the staff's reply to my email. I have even started going there for some daily Salat. Their website is one of the best I have seen. It isn't fancy but it is fully interactive and it is up to date as well. Other masjid's could learn from their website.

It's an excellent place to increase one's knowledge about Islam while savoring the beauty of different cultures, which open up doors to new ideas to learn from within the boundaries of Islam.
