In 1988, the Islamic community in Evansville was given a piece of land next to Saint Benedict's Church. Today it is a place for worship for around 250 people. The Islamic Society of Evansville now has a new facility on Grimm Road that, at 15,000 square feet, is roughly three times the space of its Lincoln Avenue site.
