Burj Plaza opens in Lombard with 21+ halal-serving businesses

Burj Plaza, a mixed-use development at 515 W. Roosevelt Road in Lombard, Illinois, is opening with more than 21 businesses serving the Muslim community. According to Instagram posts from the plaza, tenants include Usmania (Pakistani fine dining), Panwaari (dessert restaurant and South Asian street food), Al Manakeesh (Palestinian restaurant), Shelby's (Middle Eastern restaurant), Dosa Inn (vegan Indian restaurant), Karahi Boys (Pakistani restaurant), Milk Cake Bakery (cafe with desserts), Melt n Dip (dessert restaurant), Bumper-to-Burger, Gulf Perfume, Easy Suites, and others.

The 10.8-acre site underwent demolition and construction beginning in 2025 following its purchase in December 2024, according to ArcGIS StoryMaps. The development repurposed the former Dania building for retail, service, and restaurant uses, and renovated the former Fifth Third Bank building into a Bumper-to-Burger location with a drive-thru. A new banquet facility is planned within the southern portion of the main building.

Some businesses have already opened, with more scheduled to launch throughout 2026. The plaza's website lists the full roster of tenants across food, dessert, retail, and service categories.
