A redevelopment project at 505–515 W. Roosevelt Road in Lombard is bringing 21 businesses to the Illinois suburb, according to project information. The site, which spans 10.8 acres and was sold in December 2024, began demolition and construction in 2025.
The development repurposes the former Dania building for retail, service, and restaurant uses. A new banquet facility will occupy the majority of a southern building. The existing auto repair building has been demolished to provide additional parking. The former Fifth Third Bank building is being remodeled into a Bumper-to-Burger restaurant with a drive-thru, and the former auto glass repair building will become a smoking establishment.
Businesses planned to open at Burj Plaza in 2026 include Usmania (Pakistani), Karahi Boys (Pakistani), Al Manakeesh (Palestinian), Shelby's (Middle Eastern), Dosa Inn (vegan Indian), Panwaari and Melt-n-Dip (dessert), Milk Cake Bakery (cafe with desserts), MFC (fried chicken), Gulf Fragrances (Arab perfumery), Easy Suites (salon suites), and Platinum Cuts (barbershop), along with Bumper 2 Burger and Lyla Lounge. According to social media, a couple of businesses are already open, with more to follow.
