★★★★☆ The food here is quite good. I prefer to carry out though bc I find the restaurant is always packed and poorly lighted. However, we love their lamb biryani (its the best) and one order for 10-11 bucks will feed my husband, toddler, and myself. Definitely a must try. Posted on April 30, 2018 |
★★★★★ This is the best restaurant in Bay Area for Indian food. The owners are from Delhi and cook the food themselves. Posted on February 27, 2018 |
★★★★★ We were passing through and found this place. Excellent food at right price. Posted on November 1, 2015 |

NR Good food, shoulder parking and hole in the wall expanded a lil restaurant, ordered mutton biryani, mutton curry n chicken tikka that tasted like shahi chicken for some reason, but overall good, a new business location would help a lot Posted on August 6, 2015 |
★★☆☆☆ Very slow service. Not that clean. Food is excellent but only go there if you have lots of time and don't mind unclean environment. I wish they would take care of the ambience as food price is very expensive. There was hardly any meat in my goat/lamb curry. Posted on April 23, 2015 |
★★★★☆ The service was really slow but the food more than made up for it. Really tasty Lamb chops and Chicken saag. The chops were quite unlike i have had for a while with desi spices and very tender. The naan was good along with kababs. Posted on March 2, 2015 |

★★★★★ Salamu Aleikum,
Great food. Tandoori is the best they say, and we agree. Bit crowded(like all places with great food), but overall good experience, the tall Ethiopian brothers that serve make it a fun experience!
Behind Masjid Al Noor, sop you can pray as well. But please eat after the prayer:) Posted on December 12, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Excellent food! But very slow on service and even when you order on the phone they never pick up the phone then the order itself takes a long time too. Hmm but I still love it! I really wish their service was faster :/ Posted on November 17, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ BEWARE DECEPTIVE when it comes to carry out and catering!!!!!
I used to go to this place they do have many good dishes. BUT they have very slow service and the food will be served in bit and pieces and not together at the same time. Also they are deceptive when it comes to Catering. I ordered Mutton Biryani. Took the food home to distribute to fasting friends.
I later realized that there was bones but NO Meat. I was embarrassed as this is a meat dish and friends would think I was giving them leftovers. The Biryani was not up to the standard.
When I called to complain to the owner Usman, he was extremely rude with me and hung up the phone. Not only was he rude he refused to accept my complaints. He refused to accept his mistake. He has no word politeness in his dictionary. In the past also he had given me burnt breads two times. Because he has a roaring business he does not care about it. Posted on July 25, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Great food, original taste. Nice wait staff. Michelin review is a big plus. I wish there was more variety in the lunch buffet though. Posted on January 10, 2013 |

★★★★☆ If you want some really good indo/pak food in santa clara, then this is the place. Food is excellent and awesome. The downside is that service is extemely slow and most of the time they run out of biryani/haleem/nahari during dinner. We were lucky enough to grab on to biryani and it was really good. Posted on September 2, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Good food, nice clean place. But it is a bit pricey for what you get and the service was slow as well. Posted on April 3, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ very very slow service....food was okay.
but please improve on service. Posted on January 6, 2012 |

★★★★★ The food was amazing! Best biryani I've had in a long time. Will definitely be coming back. Butter chicken was good too, but small proportions for the price. Posted on October 2, 2011 |
★★★★★ Five Star Briyani!!! Posted on October 2, 2011 |
★★★★☆ You gotto try Biryani. It is the best in US. Nobody makes biryani as good as kabab and curry. I usually eat sweep paan too. It gets crowded during lunch. You may not even get a seat if you go after 12.30. Posted on September 30, 2011 |
★★★★☆ Kabon & Curry offers one of the best Biryanis in Bay area. I am eating at this place for last 3 years, they have consistently maintained the same taste and quality. Posted on September 29, 2011 |
★★★★★ I've been to at least 30 Indian restaurants in my life, so I'm pretty critical of Indian food -- this is hands-down my favorite Indian restaurant. The kababs here are the best (Chicken breast/leg quarter, both seekh kabab). I always enjoy the lamb curry that I have, too. If lamb biryani is being served, you're in for a treat. The other biryanis are great, too. Complaints about the portions are unfounded -- SO much food for the price. (I challenge you to have a plate of biryani and tell me you weren't super full afterward.) Posted on September 25, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ Very slow service and food is OK. Buffet takes a while to refill. I don' know what the fuss is about a line for Buffet? I haven't seen any lines during my multiple visits. Posted on September 18, 2009 |
★★★★☆ I have been going here every since they opened up back in '01......Your typical "Mom and Pop" shop......Although the set-up is tight and the building is not that attractive it has really nice South Asian food.....I would say the best thing and the main thing to go for is the lunch and dinner buffet.....I believe that is only thing I have ever gone for --- as it is great food for a decent price.....This place is also only 1/2 a block from Masjid Anoor which makes it very convenient as well. ★★★★☆ Many people recommended this restaurant recently to me and I went there last weekend. I think the food is good. Service really sucks though. I wouldn't say food is excellent but definitely better than most of the places around especially some overrated places. I definitely recommend this place to people. I had Chicken Tikka Masala and Aaloo matar and both were very good (recommended by a friend). I will like to try b b q items next time to see if they are good too. Posted on October 27, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ Good food, slow service! Not buying the whole bandwagon stuff... Posted on September 8, 2008 |

★★★★★ The best and most authentic Indian muslim food in the bay area, period! I've been eating at this place even before I moved to the Bay area about 4 years ago and I still love it. They have the best chicken and Lamb Biryani I have had this side of the Pacific! The service is slow so I usually order takeout. The owners are very friendly and well known in the community. This also happens to be my son's (7yr) fav restaurant. Posted on June 23, 2008 |

★★★★☆ I've been here a few times and the food is consistently pretty good. I went here for the lunch buffet today, and agree with some of the other reviewers, that it gets very crowded and the service is a bit on the slow side, but not that bad. The food was tasty, but I did notice that the naan did not have butter on it...yes I'm being picky...but you start noticing these small details when you've been to as many Paki restaurants as I have. Also good to note that they do take credit card, although the owner told me they prefer cash for bills under $15.00 (the buffet was $8.00). Posted on March 6, 2007 |
★★★★☆ The food is really good. The service is really really bad and slow. The Friday lunch buffet is the best thing. Posted on January 29, 2007 |
★★★★☆ We have to been Kabab and Curry many times but always order to go since the service is slow. Food is excellent and they have the best Lamb Briyani in the Bay area. We always compliments with Lamb Kadai and Butter Chicken. If you want to order to-go, always call 1 hr in advance and expect to wait 15-30 mins before you get your order. Sometimes, they give your order to others who came late but insisted on their order. Owner is friendly but seem too busy to smile to customer. Highly recommended for any Muslim bro and sister. Posted on November 19, 2006 |

★★★★☆ the food is very good, their service is a lil slow.. but the food makes up for the service... If the owners see this PLEASE add the deserts to your menu.. the mango pudding is ridiculous!!! Posted on October 18, 2006 |

★★★★★ Best indian food at California. Thier Lamb biryani is great. Whoever comes to bay area, I have successfuly impress them with good food by treating at Kabab and Curry Posted on August 12, 2006 |

★★★★☆ Good food, bad service.
Food is really tasty but the service is very slow. Posted on May 2, 2006 |

★★★★★ Very crowded during lunch time, go early for lunch - I never had such a tasty Tandoori Chicken. Price for buffet is very reasonable. Posted on March 1, 2006 |

★★★★★ great food - i like the chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and aloo mater. prices are pretty good, service is average Posted on February 14, 2006 |

★★★★★ I've been going to Kabab and Curry for years now, and honestly it's the best indian/pakistani food I've ever eaten. I tried other restaurants and I keep going back to KC. Everything is great, the tandoori chicken, korma, masala, nana...etc. The only thing I would have to say, is that the service is a little bit slow, specially when ordering to go. I'm not complaining, just an observation, and I understand they get many orders and it takes time to complete them. One suggestion is to add more items to the menu, such as a soup item (daal maybe), samosa, ...etc. I highly recommend the place. When you go there, you have to be patient with the service, but the quality of the food is unsurpassed. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Posted on September 4, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ The food is excellent but I'm giving it a low rating because the service stinks. You cannot sit in this place, it has no decor nor does it seem to have a ventilation system. Even if we wait there for five minutes for takeout we wind up smelling until our next shower. Even if you order on the phone, they will sell your portion to the next in person customer and give you a different dish when you come in... which is just stupid. Posted on August 9, 2005 |
★★☆☆☆ I was not at all impressed with this restaurant when I realized that on a Saturday night (which obviously shows a full house) there was only one man taking orders, phone calls, and cleaning up...the rest of the "employees" were happily conversing with people entering the restaurant..Other than that though, the food was quite good... ★★★☆☆ I just tried this place for the first time today. We were there for the lunch buffet. The food was pretty good. The naan was okay, I have had better else where. The tandouri chicken was really good. My only complaint would be about the service. The waiter doesnt come around to take your used plates. I think he wants you to use the same plate everytime you return to the buffet. And I did actually see other customers doing that. I think that this is a health department "No No". Posted on December 16, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Decent food decent prices..what more to expect..if you dont like it cook for yourself...awesome food.... Posted on November 5, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Food is excellent. perhaps they should improve service Posted on October 14, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Clean interiors, decent seating, good service and great food. Prices are a little on the high side and a good meal for two can cost $25-30. Otherwise ok! Posted on September 7, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ my statement towards kababand curry is very slow. i order 2 chicken korma and 4 nans togo on the phone around 7:15pm and they told me to pick up around 7:45pm on the way i called them again as usual they told they need 15 more minutes i think they need to improve service for faster food or call 1 day before so you can get it next day. thank you

★★★★★ My favorite place for lunch. My colleague is Bosnian, and he loves the buffet. The service has improved a lot. The Naan was the problem before, they could'nt make it fast enough. But I was there again today, and naan production was adequate. Price is reasonable for buffet. Posted on June 15, 2004 |

★★★★★ I go during buffet time just to pig-out (pardon the use of pig) on BBQ chicken. I just love it, oh and the bread, i could sit there all day and eat just bread. Maybe my taste is old fashioned, but hey, old fashioned is good :) Posted on May 31, 2004 |

★★★★★ Loooooooooooooooooooove their food... sooo tasty. When i hear a buffet, i go bananas... their buffet is Ok, but i especially looooooooooove the chicken. So, i go for it. In general, as the only muslim buffet available, i find it excellent. I also die for their bread. The service is fast, and fit for the price. Mashallah, they're always busy, which gives you an idea of how popular it is. I guess if it was of a poor quality, no one would show up, right? :) Posted on May 23, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ Poor service. You have wait for the whole night just to give the order. They don't care about customers waiting time. Sometimes they behave rude. Posted on April 16, 2004 |
★★★★★ ASAK. Food is excellent, specially their Kadai Chk, Kadai Gosht and Seekh Kabab are excellent, I go there whenever I am in town for work. ONly down side is I end up eating too much. It reminds me of a couple of good resturants around Crawford Market in Bombay. Posted on March 18, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Consistently popular since it opened. If you don't see crowds coming in, you cannot mistake the captivating kabob aroma in the neighborhood. Nice variety of meat and vegetarian dishes. While the ambiance may not make it ideal for dinner with your CEO, the restaurant delivers on what it projects itself to be. A place for excellent food at very reasonable prices. Posted on January 30, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Food is delicious and spicy. Do not take more than one plate even if you are still hangry. It may disturb you later. Service is below average, but I still go there becasuse of the quality of food. Posted on January 16, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Tandoori chicken has no authentic Punjabi taste and no salads served or available.. nan quality is not crispy..service extremely poor. To compare likewise food, visit Shalimar (Fremont) to get value for money spent. Posted on January 2, 2004 |

★★★★★ Went there 12/27/03. Ordered Tandoori chicken with naan, butter chicken and lamb curry. Tandoori chkn was awesome even just to look at, and it was definitely delicious. Naans were exceptional. The lamb curry was average while the butter chicken was reallllly good. There is a family room in the back if you have a large group and prefer some privacy. A masjid is about a minute's walk from there. Posted on December 29, 2003 |

★★★★★ Altough service is bad but this is one of the best place to eat Halal Food. The quality of the food is number 1 ! One thing that i could suggest is for them to open earlier on Jumaah so people can go there before 1st Jumaah prayer on MCA Posted on December 14, 2003 |

★★★★★ it is a an awesome restaurant i loved it. food is great and people are very friendly. i recommend everyone to go there. Posted on November 15, 2003 |

★☆☆☆☆ Service was extremely slow, called in advance and still had to wait another half an hour for a to go order. The last straw was when I got the runs, Hygene is not at the top of their priority list. Posted on November 6, 2003 |

★★★★★ MMmmmmm... Best Nanas and Bitter chicken I'v ever had.. Their Seekh kabab is awesome.. They need to improve on their service. But you can always call them in advance.. Posted on October 22, 2003 |

★★★★☆ Good food at reasonable prices. But customer service, friendliness and courtesy needs a lot of improvement. It looks like they are doing a favor by running the restaurant instead of catering to customer needs. Quality of food however ensures 4 stars. Posted on October 12, 2003 |

★★★★☆ Ridiculous slow service but excellent food if you don't mind waiting. It is the place to eat. Please support our fellow halal meat servers - we need more of them! Posted on October 4, 2003 |

★★★★☆ Food here has some homelike elements. What is different from home is the extent to which they clean (or rather don't clean) chicken before cooking.
Karahi Chicken and Chicken Korma is good. So is tandoori chicken most times.
Naan is good if eaten within 5 minutes of being served. If you wait 10 minutes you can use to waterproof your roof.
Some folks who don't know what Biryani should be like may find it ok.
Plain rice is quite well cooked.
Sweet dishes in buffet are good.
Chef is a nice guy but hey, you want the food to be good not the chef.
Overall good food which is closer to homelike cooking than any other South Asian joint. Posted on October 4, 2003 |

★★★★★ Very good food. Service is slow but have buffet for lunch so does not matter. For other times best to order food, pray in the mosque right adjacent and come back to avoid waiting for food. Owner is religious. Posted on January 6, 2003 |

★★★★☆ "The food is excellent. I work in the Santa Clara area and this place is an excellent choice for having lunch. The afore mentioned slow service does not come into play if you go there for their lunch buffets. Eat all you like and enjoy every morsel. Especially their ""aalo-matar"" dish. Excellent. I've only started liking this dish once I tried it here. Otherwise I'm a strict meat eater." Posted on December 24, 2002 |

★★★★★ Have eaten here on three occasions and think that food is very good. The folks are nice and try hard but the service is indeed quite slow. These folks are quite busy with a steady flow of take-out orders as well not to mention the eat-in crowd. Overall, I would surely recommend this place except when one is in a hurry. Posted on December 17, 2002 |

★★★★☆ Usually because of their EXTREMELY slow service we used to avoid Kabab & Curry. But we went there 4-5 days ago, the service was excellent. The food was as usual very good. Just hope that they keep it up. Posted on November 18, 2002 |
★★★★☆ "They serve excellent Barbq Chicken Tika, great sikh kabab and chicken tika masala. The only problem is the wait. If the resataurant is full, expect waits (while sitting on your table) of up to 50 minutes before the food is served. However if it's not that busy they're service is good enough." Posted on July 8, 2002 |

★★☆☆☆ Have been patronizing this restaurant - good food but bad service. Not much choice from the menu, yet the service is way too slow. Lunch buffet went out of food for almost 30 minutes, on my day bringing out few friends. Owner must pay attention to the service complaint to ensure business went well. Posted on March 27, 2002 |

★★★★★ "I have been eating there since September of 2000 and have been satisfied with the food every single time. The service is kind of slow, but they're working on that. In terms of food, this is the best food I have ever tasted. I especially like the Lamb Korma, chicken tikka and naan. Their naan are particularly tasty. I often take my co-workers there for lunch." ★★☆☆☆ "Ah! What a restaurant! I have been there several times and have never been satisfied. You have to place a order an hour or 2 before you wanna eat. They usually don't take credit cards and if they then you have to pay a dollar or more (because they don't wanna pay to the company) and their food never tastes like restaurant food, it feels like a homemade food. So there is no use of going to a restaurant when you wanna eat homemade food. So i'll suggest never ever go to this restaurant." Posted on August 23, 2001 |

★★★★★ The food tastes excellent. However, the service is very slow. They say, the service is slow because they make everything fresh. I usually order the food before I go and tell them to keep it ready so that when I reach the restaurant, the food is ready. Posted on July 12, 2001 |

★★☆☆☆ Mom & Pop shop. Not well organized. Be prepared to start eating one hour after placing your order. Stopped going there, when portions started shrinking, and quality deteriorated. Posted on February 11, 2001 |

★★★★☆ Good Kebabs and Tandoori Nan. The Nan is excellent for the weight watchers amongst us as they were not buttered. The Chicken Tikka is fair but could do with some extra marination.I will try out their buffet offerings soon and report further. Posted on January 31, 2001 |
