7727 Garvey Avenue, Rosemead, CA 91770
Opened daily except Monday. The restaurant has been serving the whole Southern California muslim communities for 30 more years. Currently under new owner who came from Northern-West of China, we're making much more improvement to the classic dishes and adding a lot of new Chinese Halal dishes which are more popular in China. Added on June 10, 1999 and last updated 4 years ago

★★★★★ I'm from Chicago and by far this the best halal Chinese food I ate.
the best was hot and sour soup, magnolia beef, king Pao chicken and 3 flavour fried rice. the fried rice was amazing......love it and inshallah will come back when visiting LA. keep up the great work. Posted on September 13, 2018 |
Thanks. Welcome back again. |

★★★★★ Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters. Finally I took over the China Islamic Restaurant, alhamdulillah. I'm from a traditional and religious Chinese muslim family and gonna do the business based on my belief, especially keep all the foods halal inshallah. Welcome you come back now and enjoy our delicious chinese halal food. Posted on March 13, 2018 |

★★★☆☆ Unfortunately after eating at Lotus, Ma's and Nomad, this halal chinese seemed pretty ordinary. The service was lousy as i had to wait a long time in a nearly empty restaurant. I had the Kung Pao chicken which was strictly average. Posted on September 18, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I 'm an international student here in los angeles and i wentt to china islamic with my friends to make them try western Chinese cuisines... but seriously it was worst customer service ever..... ... our server was very rude and didn't give us enough time to look at the menu and even when we asked for time she rudely told us that kitchen is closing so make it quick and we had to order stuff bluntly and very quickly.... seriously i mean if it was closing then why u let us in???....came in the middle of the dinner with check and asked us to pay....and when i only gave 1.50 as a tip ..she came back to fight for it... and then i had to tell her it was for your rude behavior but she wasn't listening and being abusive ..... believe me she was being abusive.......why i gave her only 1.50.....thats ridiculous .... they didn't provide us with boxes for stay overs.......i havent seen such a customer service before.....and food was just ok! but we had to leave even before we finish!!!! thanks for ruining our day... i would tolerate some bad food but not a bad customer service... ..i m not going there again.... ★★★★★ My family and my friends been eating there over last 10 years. We love this place. Great Halal food, good price and very good service. Sesame bread with spicy lamb or onion lamb is the best. We know they serve Halal food and order from A-Noohi & Company which a main Halal meat supplier in Los Angeles area. Sometimes a little problems with parking, but otherwise great. ★☆☆☆☆ I was told by the old owners that this place was sold to non Muslims ,and then I confirmed it from the person who use to sell them the halal meat that the owners are not Muslim and now they buy there meat from other places also.
I know they still kept the. Name china Islamic and have picture of kabba in the restaurant.
All I am saying please do your research please. Posted on January 20, 2013 |

NR Drove an hour with the family. Was impressed. The service was fast, and the food good. I loved the chicken corn soup, sesame chicken and the sesame bread. The chicken fried rice was a bit too heavy for me. Would come here again. Worth it for halal chinese food Posted on May 1, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I always go to Lotus (in the OC) for Chinese, but ended up going here as I was in the area. So this place is expensive for chinese food and the food is alright, nothing special and doesn't measure up to Lotus or Ma's. Posted on July 17, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Thanks Zabihah.com for leading us to this restaurant. Although I read the comments by some users saying that the restaurant may not be halal, but I trust my judgement. In this world, in Los Angeles, if someone has a business and decides to put "Islamic" in its name, and there are pictures of Mecca and names of Allah in the restaurant, I will trust it.
We tried a lot of foods and all were great. The staff was a little tired, but that is understandable, since we arrive almost at closing time.
I would go back again if in the area. Posted on January 13, 2011 |

★★★★★ I had an opportunity to visit this restaurant with my parents and I was amazed at how decent the sitting was and how reasonably the food was priced. We went there for lunch and had the $5.99 lunch combos. Everything tasted awesome and enjoyed every bit of it.
Then I realized that the restaurant's name it self has the word "islam" in it. How difficult it will be for the owner of this place to make business if red-necks who doesnt like to eat at such places. As a muslim it is important for us to help out this brother and make sure that he doesnt go out of business.
I thought I would share this with you all here... I dont normally write reviews, but again I felt I should for this one. So, do check them out and tell others too. Posted on September 12, 2010 |

★★★★★ Mash'allah - simply the best! Nothing more., very friendly staff, Posted on April 25, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ The customer service at this place is horrible. We have come here with family and friends and when the bill is high, the customer service is great.
We once stopped in for lunch and did not order many items and they were soo rude. High bill = high Service.... low bill = low service.
I have stopped going there. They need to improve their attitude. Posted on April 24, 2010 |

|
★★★★☆ I went here and the staff confirmed with me that the meat is "Halal". If they are confirming that the meat is Halal we have to take their word for it ---- unless someones wants to pay a visit their supplier(s). The service and food were great and the set up is decent. ★☆☆☆☆ I know this site can't verify if the stores are really providing halal or not, but come on now. Methinks the jig is up for this restaurant. Muslims beware, sometimes where there's smoke, there really is fire. Posted on November 7, 2009 |
|
|
★☆☆☆☆ The restaurant is not providing Zabiha Halal food anymore period. This Ad should be removed from this site, Or the name of the website should be changed. Doesnt matter how tasty the food is, we should boycott this restaurant. Posted on September 14, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ It's pretty good, but as far as halal chinese, I prefer Mas in OC. They do have a very extensive menu, though, and the things we ordered were not bad, just not the best.
WARNING: the sesame bread, (though very good), is enough to feed a small family. Posted on July 16, 2009 |

★★★★★ My wife's cousin took us here for a a family dinner. The place was spacious inside and had a comfortable decor to it. The menu was impressive (everything you can imagine) -- and the food was intensely delicious with quick service and large portions. I would highly recommend anyone who is in the area to go as it is a great atmosphere and you get more then your fill. Posted on January 27, 2008 |

★★★★☆ Based on the review of MuhammadHossain on this site, we visited this place.
We were a large party, and ordered different types of food. It was all good and fresh. Posted on January 9, 2007 |

★★★★★ We've been eating at China Islamic Restaurant for over 15 years. We love the place and the food over there.
Spicy Chicken, Green Onion Lamb, Orange Chicken, KongBao Shrimp, Sesame bread etc. You name it, we like them all.
I know they order the Halal meat from Islamic Food Court at LA downtown all the time. The Food Court owner told me
when we go there for shopping. It will be really nice if they can improve the parking a little. Posted on December 13, 2006 |

★☆☆☆☆ ***WARNING***WARNING****
This place has been sold. THe current owner buys NON-Halal meat and Halal meat. BUT he does NOT distinguish which meat muslims gets adn non muslims gets. Sister Jamilah's family owned the place they sold it to his brother ho is muslim but a non-practicing one when it comes to making sure you get HALAL meat. In summary, if you care about eating Halal_zabihah this is not the spot. Why read above statement again. JAK Posted on November 8, 2006 |

★★★★★ Very nice place, awesome food I tried Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Lamb soup. I had to make it to go due to the huge quantity..
The reviews here mentioned the waiters to be rude.. To the contrary they were very hospitable.. and the food was served within 10 minutes..I had gone on Friday Night. For the good treatment, I gave $5 tip to the waiteress. I had gone there alone myself. They have a private parking lot, but it was full So I had to park on the street. Posted on September 10, 2005 |

★★★★★ Yummy MashaAllah excellant food. Call add and make reservations and then be prepared to wait 30-45 min. The orange chicken is awesome also is the pratha's. If in the mood for something light order the chicken-corn soup. Posted on March 23, 2005 |

★★★★★ I live very close to this place. I have been going here since i was a lil kid. Whenever relatives or friends visit from overseas or even other states, this is the place to take them. Chef's have changed over the past decade but still the best halal chinese in town. In fact you'll find many Non muslims there also. I've even heard it being on the TOP 10 List in LA. (i dont mean top 10 halal but it deserves to be in the top 3 in halal resturaunts in LA) Recommendations. Try mangolian beef, sweet and sour chicken/shrimps. Chicken with spicy sauce. Chicken.. actually everything is good no one has ever disliked anything they ordered from here.
WARNING.. the waiters will rush. service is ok. EXCEPT the waiters to bluntly ask you for tips.which is very rude. The waiters will give you ur bill and stand by you and if you're looking for ur cash/card etc they will say "this doesn't include tip" For that reason, i feel that they shouldn't be tiped at all or just pennies should be left. Someone needs to talk to the owner about this issue Posted on March 22, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ The food here is very good, but I have not been very happy with the service. Twice I have been there and the waiters have rushed me and/or messed up my order. Posted on January 14, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Really good chinese food!
But i have seen budweiser in the cooler behind the counter....are they really halal?
i am skeptical...can someone clarify this or else i wont eat there again. Posted on January 13, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Was in Monterey Park on business. Awsome food. Never had mongolian beef, nor any other chinese cuisine I've always wanted to taste. I actually brought the food on the flight back home. If there was only one in Seattle. Posted on December 14, 2004 |

★★★★★ Wonderful Food! My husdband and I often go to have lunch there. Also, when there is a visitor at our house, we always take him/her to have dinner or lunch there. He/she loves it!Good environment, quick service, but parking might be and issue.
Highly recommended. Really good prices!
A must order: Sweet and Sour Chicken Posted on October 4, 2004 |

★★★★★ I have called them for verification of owner change. I was told that the owners are just on vacation. The owner has NOT changed. Also, they told me they buy meat from Islamic Food Mart (668 Vermont at Wilshire, 213-383-2583) We dined twice and liked very much. Posted on September 6, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Owner has changed. If you accept people of the book zabihah as halal, then go ahead. Otherwise, ask them you want your order cooked by Muslim vendor meat Posted on August 28, 2004 |

★★★★★ i've been patronising this establishment when it was on ninth street. never disappointed. highly recommended for chinese halal food. Posted on August 11, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Good place, but super busy on weekends. The food rocks. They've really got it figured out as to what South Asians and Middle Easterners are looking for in 'Chinese Food'. I like their various breads. They could do with a larger location and some additional parking. Posted on July 9, 2004 |
|
|
★★★★★ We have been eating here since it opened over 18 yrs ago and it is perhaps the best Chinese and the best Halal food I have ever had. The kung pao chicken, paratha, and seasame chicken, to name a few are the best. The staff is really nice. The place is very busy but the service is very quick and efficient. Posted on May 11, 2004 |

★★★★★ This is one of the best authentic Halal Chinese Resturaunts in USA. If you are visiting Southern California, be sure to make a trip, you won't regret it. Posted on May 11, 2004 |

★★★★★ This has got to be the best chinese halal restaurant in southern california. the food is authentic and suberb...top notch!! you have to try the homemade noodles and of course, the homemade bread. mmmmmmmm....affordable prices too. Posted on May 1, 2004 |

★★★★★ We've been eating here since this place opened back in the 1980's. Hands down, the BEST Chinese food you will ever have. The selections are very extensive and the food is served piping hot. My favorite dishes include the hot and sour soup and the Chinese parathas. The place is always packed and the service can be a little rushed and discoordinated (don't expect too many smiles and "is everything okay?"). Table service is family style, which is enjoyable, and the decor of the place is decent. But the food is out of this world! Posted on March 12, 2004 |
