NR Food is great - prices are decent (with party of 9, I spent $100 incuding drinks).... Chapli kabab platter is perhaps the best one. I have been going there for some years now and I have found the quality to be consistently good. You have to order at the cash etc., so not much of a service to expect - but the staff has generally been friendly. When compared to Afghan food I have had in many other cities, this is by far the best Afghan food. Lucky to have this in Ottawa.....this place continues to be one of our favorite dine-in default. ★★★☆☆ The previous owners were a lot more friendly and the food was better however, the food is average. Posted on October 11, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ Decent place to go for lunch. I ordered the chicken kabab plate and it was good. Service was fast and friendly. However, being from California (having lived in Fremont) Afghan food is not the same in Canada. The people there seemed to enjoy their food. I recommend if in the area. Posted on June 26, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ Owner changed along with the woman who work there and now there is loud music playing all the time. They just play whatever music the girls who work there want not even music of the countries food. The food is good masha Allah but if the music is there we will not return insha Allah. There is normal seating like a regular restaurant but you order and pick up your food at the front desk which is not that nice. It is not open Mondays and during winter we found the place somewhat cold. The washrooms are OK. Posted on March 25, 2013 |

★★★★☆ The food is good and testy. But they need to enhance their service .. and I wish they have delivery because it is too far for us Posted on March 6, 2012 |

★★★★★ Best Afghani restaurant in Ottawa. Owners are super - friendly. Have prayer mats if you want to pray. Amazing kebobs and rice. They offer complimentary dates and soup during Iftaar. Definitely worth checking out!! Posted on August 18, 2011 |

★★★★★ There is nothing to complain here. I have been to several restaurants when in Ottawa and this will be my fave. The food is good reminds me a bit of Shalimar in San Francisco, which is still one of the best in the USA. Posted on July 26, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I went there for a take out. The place was very busy and just before iftaar the entrance has to be closed as the place was full. I ordered chicken tandoori and chopon kabab plates. The food was great in taste and comes with rice, salad and freshly baked nan (bread). Definitely recommended for its taste and price. Posted on August 28, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ Great quality and Great Price. Will be back. Not a sit down restaurant, but rather take out style. Thats of course reflected in the price. Posted on July 25, 2010 |

★★★★★ I've been 3 times in the last 3 weeks, and I have been happy with the food every time. Portions are a good size for the price, and the food is always fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. Posted on April 1, 2010 |

★★★★★ Had lunch last week with a friend. The service was quite fast. Food was excellent (Shami Kabob), the nan bread was simply amazing. The only thing I didn't like was the self serve setting; but not a big issue for lunch, but they need to have servers for dinner. Will definitely visit again since the food is amazing and the staff/owner is very courteous. Posted on March 28, 2010 |

★★★★★ New Afghan restaurant located beside PharmaPlus, on Carling Rd. The restaurant has a nice design and it was very clean. The food was great, I ordered the Chicken Breast Kabob Platter, it came with with a skewer of chicken kabob on a bed of rice, with salad on the side. For dessert, they had a firnee which was like a milk custard/pudding, that was tasty also. It was a self service restaurant, where you go up and order and pick up the food yourself. The staff and owner were very nice. Will come back again Posted on March 8, 2010 |

★★★★★ We just had a visit to this two weeks' old restaurant last night and found out that they are really doing great job. We ordered shami and chicken kabob as well as meat qorma , they were all delicisious. Naan was also perfect. Very neat, nice decorated clean place, absolutely suitable for family. Staff was nice, it is a family business as far as I see. They also make pizza if you like but no delivery at this time. I tasted their pizza on some other occasion and it was good as well. I talked to the owner a bit, and he mentioned that he used to own silkroad restaurant on the east end before this. It is always good to have a new alternative for Muslim community. By the way, it is kind of self service, you have to order and pick it up to your table yourself. Maybe not so comfortable for some people but you save some money (no tips) and the owner savde some as well, good idea to maintain the business in these tough days
