★★★★★ I don't normally write reviews but this place was so great and I only tried it thanks to the reviews on this website. So I figured it was time to say Jazak'Allah and repay the favour!
Like I said, we only went here because I read about it on this website, otherwise we wouldn't know it existed. And we were so glad we tried it out! It looked very small when we arrived, and clearly it has only recently been set up, but the area was clean which is important. My husband and I ordered both the chicken tikka and the beef tikka, as well as the shami kebab. Everything arrived freshly grilled, hot and delicious! The naan was outstanding, and the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We loved the raita yoghurt served with the salad too. I ordered the Kabuli pulao as my aunt is Afghani and she's made it for me many times, and I was so impressed! Spot on flavour and taste, just yummy! Portions were nice and generous, although the one thing I must admit is that the prices are a little steep - it came out to $40 for two people, including the tip. However, given the area, high prices are common, and considering how much we enjoyed the food, we were happy to pay it. In fact, we decided to return here for every meal while we were in Niagara Falls for a few days. Even tried their Chicken Karhai, which was tasty but a little bland for our palettes, as we're used to rich spicy curries. But nevertheless tasty. We ordered that as a delivery option and they delivered right to our hotel room, which was such a treat.
The server was really friendly and polite, we overall had no complaints at all and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. A must for all visitors in the area to try, you won't be disappointed! We're already looking forward to going back again, inshAllah. Posted on August 29, 2013 |

★★★★★ My wife and I spent a few days in Niagara Falls and were searching for a halal restaurant. We weren't satisfied with some of the other places in the area and even sat in one then left because of the lack of cleanliness and the apathetic staff.
However, when we sat down in Afghan Kabob, the elderly man who owns the restaurant immediately came over to us and assured us that the food is halal, along with mentioning the source, which is Kabul Farms in Milton, ON. The lamb is actually halal and organic! I felt so much relief when I heard that, and I felt like I could trust the owner and his son--that they were honest people.
We felt like we were over at someone's house for dinner. That's how hospitable they were to us! Everyone was so nice, so we decided to keep eating there for the remainder of our stay in Niagara Falls and even took some for the road.
The chicken tikka was amazing, and, to date, the best chicken I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection, soft and tender, with an amazing mix of spices. Everything was made after we ordered it from scratch, so it was really fresh when it got to our table.
They're still a new family-owned and family-run restaurant, and they were getting the A/C set up when we were there, so it was a bit hot in the restaurant, but we didn't care. What matters most to us is great service from a trusted staff along with excellent-tasting food.
If you go to Niagara Falls, you absolutely must stop by this hidden gem (as another post described it). I know we'll definitely do so the next time we're in town! Posted on August 12, 2013 |

★★★★★ It was awesome to find such good Afghan food in the middle of touristy Niagara Falls. We're originally from NY and used to great Afghan food, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem in NF. The chicken tikka is really moist and yummy. The shami kebab is similar to Persian koobideh kebab, except it's much more flavorful than Persian food. The bread was excellent as was the brown rice. It's a new restaurant owned by a really nice family. The big brother, who does most of the cooking, is super friendly and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. We ate there all 3 days we were in the area! :)
The food is excellent, my only recommendations would be to increase the portion sizes (bit expensive for the quantity given) and upgrade the decor. All in all, you would be missing out if you don't visit this restaurant when you're in the area! Posted on August 4, 2013 |

★★★★★ We really enjoyed this place. We were impressed with how fresh the food was, and the spices and seasonings used were fantastically flavorful. The fresh lemon, cilantro, and mint in the salads and sauces were all wonderful touches, too! The naan was made fresh and was piping hot. We ordered a dumpling appepitzer that was prepared from scratch and was AMAZING! Staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back when in Niagara again! Posted on June 27, 2013 |

★★★★★ I don't typically write reviews but this place left such a lasting impression that I had to spread the word. If you're ever in Niagara Falls, you have to try this place. We ordered the chicken tikka, which is basically marinated chicken breast cubes with amazing afghan rice and naan. The naan (bread) was fresh out of the oven. Everything was actually made freshly on the spot. The chicken, was probably the best I have ever had. No joke. It was really tender and full of flavor. We also had this refreshing Dogh drink which was made out of buttermilk, cucumbers, and mint.
The service was probably the best out of the whole experience. We were waited on and greeted right away by the friendly family that owns it. They were generous and made us feel at home.
We left a big tip and will definitely be back for another meal before we leave Niagara Falls. Posted on June 25, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Avoid this place, dirty, smelly, smoky, tasteless food and also the Owner was very unfriendly Posted on August 14, 2019 |

|
★★☆☆☆ Dirty like a basement apartment; sticky, grimy and broken. Food: The serving size is small, and they wont give you water in a jug, you have to buy a bottle. Haha. The food itself was tasty, but I wouldn't come back. I hope the owner reads this and invests in cleaning the restaurant up. Pretty bad. Posted on December 29, 2018 |

NR Unfortunately brother who runs this place likes to charge fellow muslims for everything like water! They say they don’t serve just a water in a glass like any other place would but they make you buy their overpriced bottled water. Prices are fairly expensive but service and quality of food are not at the same level! I don’t mind paying good price for good food but here you overpay for very low quality food! I would not come back. Posted on February 23, 2018 |

★☆☆☆☆ Went to eat based on the positive feedback, our own experience wasn't good at all. The place to eat was small, looked crowded, even I believe the owner was brooming the floor when others were eating with a broom, where all the dust would be flying over the food the people were eating. No Kabli palaw or chuplee kebabs available, even there was a tap pasted on the chuplee kebab.. I personally ordered family package for 3 people. The server served the two nans with a 30% fill cup of their sauce (chuttni) without serving the plated, and he said I need to bring plates too. The nans were cold already by the time he served the plates. The meal was served. I had to order additional food as it was not even enough for 2 people (who do like to eat out). I would not recommend this place to anyone to eat out, i rather have people to search more, read detail reviews, look for rather a better place to eat. Posted on August 21, 2016 |

★★★★★ As a lazy person, I normally don't write the reviews but i was so impressed and happy with the food and the service I received at this place, I am almost bound to write this review. After spending a busy day at american side of the falls, we crossed Canadian border and after checking in at the hotel we head towards the Afghan kabob. It was very late at night and it was almost closing time and initially uncle (owner) said to us that restaurant is close but after telling him that we came from the UK and going back tomorrow he kindly let us in and served us the best meal ever. It looked very small when we arrived, but the area was clean which is very important. They have short menu but trust me that is all you need. We ordered pretty much all the variations on the menu. Everything was freshly cooked in front of us and blimey taste was amazing. Meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The naan was outstanding, my wife is not a big fan of bread but she loved the naan bread and home made yogurt was my favorite. I definitely recommend to anyone and everyone who is planning to visit Niagara falls. I think what make this place special and different from the others is the family who is running this place. Its a family affair and by look of it whole family work in the restaurant hence you get best food and best service. 5 star definitely recommended. Posted on September 9, 2015 |

★★☆☆☆ I start with positives. Yes very nice family and I wish them the best but the negative feedbacks are all true. Sorry, but this is 2015 and we don't have to put up with 3rd class joints and sound happy just bcs they serve halal meat. My muslim kids deserve better than this in North America. They don't have to fill their dads takes them back to the 3rd world every time the family dines out. Let's get to issues.
1- Its a kitchen on the street with few tables. No ambiance whatsoever. Don't call this a restaurant.
2-No proper ventilation. There is an AC sitting on one of the seats and not doing the job. The grill's smoke is floating well in.
3- The kebob sizes are 1/2 to 2/3 of Afghan premium restaurants like Bamian. So value for money isn't there.
4- Food quality is ok. Rice is delicious and naans are hot out of oven but kebobs are not nearly the juciest or the most tender I've had.
Overall I was so disappointed that I had to control myself from calling the new patrons off.
Very nice family but that's not enough to bring me back. Posted on July 27, 2015 |

★★★★★ Absolutely great tasting Halal food (I am a fan of Afghan food and this one is really good). It is a very hard working family run business and they really put their heart and effort in operating it. Don't expect any fancy tables, decor, sitting, it is very very basic chairs and tables and space is limited (my guess no more than 20 people). We were group of about 25 and we squeezed in. But it was worth as the food was really tasty.
I will definitly be coming back when next time in the town. For a group of well fed 25, it cost us $240, which is a really good deal. Posted on July 25, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Good food, nicely done. We had Beef Tikka kabob, Chicken Tikka kabob, Chaplee kabob & Shami kabob (which was more like Seekh kabob). Particularly liked that the food was not greasy at all (even the Chaplee kabob was grilled). Owner was very courteous; allowed us to customize our order beyond the menu offerings. Nice little clean place though ... too small IMHO for a dine-in though. Posted on May 26, 2015 |

★★★★☆ The food was excellent! We walked to their location since our hotel was right by the falls. The owners were extremely nice and they actually gave us tea and an extra naan free of charge. Our food was freshly made to order and the price was reasonable to the amount of food given. This place is 100% halal and we would strongly recommend Afghan Kabob. Posted on May 22, 2015 |

★★★★★ I live in the GTA and have eaten regularly over the years at Bamiyan and Pamier so I'm familiar with Afghani food. My family and I had the chicken tikka and the chapli kebob dinners and they're comparable to Bamiyan/Pamier. The owners were nice and gave us a small bowl of homemade yogurt. Would definitely go back. Just one thing, don't bother forgoing the salad and getting extra rice because they pretty much just removed the salad and didn't give any extra rice but I didn't mind that much. ★★★★★ Love the place the owners.... Great food... Little place like ur home Posted on September 17, 2014 |

★★★★★ Excellent quality homemade food at a reasonable price. Don't expect Bamiyan or Pamier, this a family owned restaurant. It is a small place however its the food that count. With all the over priced chains in the area this is a welcome change. We were staying Niagara Falls for a few days and visited for dinner. I had the chapli kabab which was excellent and was very flavourful, it came with a nice salad and basmati rice. My wife and son shared the chicken kabab and enjoyed it. Lets support this family owned business by choosing to eat at this restaurant when your in the area. Posted on August 20, 2014 |

★★★★★ best afghan food i have tasted in Niagra. the place was run by a friendly family. the food was so clean, and you could see them cook the food infront of you so you make sure it was good. the family was so humble they gave us complimentary watermelon after we finished our meal. ★★★★★ Seriously, the best halal food I have tasted in Niagara falls :) we stayed 2 days in Niagara and we went there twice ! I would definitely come back again ! Posted on August 5, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Tried the food here today, there kabobs tasted very good, the place has halal signs and is run by an afghan family who is extremely nice. The place is a little small but will fit about 20 people to sit and dine in, I would recommend it, specially if you like afghan spices!! Posted on July 20, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Its a family run business, ordered Kabab Roll and few other items, items were prepared fresh in front of you and in the mean time we were served Complementary tea.
The owner makes fresh Tandoori Roti himself for you, the Kababs are also made in your presence, suggest you sit and eat over there.
We appreciate his efforts. Posted on January 1, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ After reading all the positive reviews here, I decided to give this place a chance. Maybe it was just a bad day, but it wasn't as great as everyone else said. The place was a little too tight, and my rice was partially burnt. The food was decent, but definitely not the best Afghan food I've had. It was also very expensive for the small amount of food I ordered, but I guess that's to be expected in this area. Posted on September 7, 2013 |
I am really sorry to hear that, at Afghan Kabob we try to make you feel at home. I will make sure that this doesn't happen again. Our prices are much lower compared to other establishment. |
