★☆☆☆☆ I used to have their lunch buffet frequently. I have even taken business guests here. However, after the way they treated my family during a recent event I have become disgusted with the owners and the entire establishment. The bathrooms are horrible. The carpet in the smaller catering hall is worse than a dirty street. There are a couple of crooks very unsavory fella working the cash register who tried to bait and switch prices after the event was over. This entire establishment has a very Un-Halal business attitude. I don't trust them in any way shape or form. I will NEVER give them my business again. Posted on November 9, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I used to go there for Buffet but last time I checked they lied to my face about the source of their meat. There's a place nearby which sells hand slaughtered zabihah meat. They told me that they take all the meat and chicken from there. But when I investigated, it came out to be that they only take goat from there. I am 200% sure everything except goat is from Restaurant Depot. If you're careful that the meat should be hand slaughtered zabihah, stay away from this place. Posted on August 12, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ Went in for a Wednesday lunch buffet around 1:00. There was no food. Literally I ate some rice and left over biryani and waited over 15 minutes for the goat curry. No tandoori chicken. Owner was rude and seemed uninterested in customer satisfaction. Will not go again. Posted on January 11, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ The best thing about this place is the Naan! The food is average and nothing to write home about. The staff is courteous and I could see that they have a lot of customers that have attended parties in the large adjacent banquent halls, but the food tasted as if it was being served at a brithday party buffet rather at a restaurant. Generally speaking, you don't expect great food at birthday parties, just to remove any doubt! One does, however, expect great food whenever you walk in to a restaurant. That was not the case during my 1st and probably last visit as a paying customer. Posted on February 12, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Catered, Mehran is absolutely average. When you go to actually sit down, though, the food drastically improves. Posted on September 25, 2010 |

★★★★☆ I usually go to Mehran when someone arranges a party over there. Their food is really good. Posted on January 10, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ I have been going to this joint ever since they opened up back in '98.......I have only been there once as a paying customer, and all other times have been for some type of occasion(reception, party, gathering, etc.) The place has a decent setting (not anything great) and the food is average. I say average because it is very oily and the menu has not changed over the years......I would recommend the establishment to really update their items and change the image of the place. It's still worth checking out if you have never been there. Posted on July 20, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Good stuff! Went here for a lunch party today. The food was very tasty and fresh. Mehran has come a long way in the past few years. It seems they have also done some much needed renovations to the banquet hall and the restrooms. I prefer Mehran's food over Chandni (located in the same strip mall). Posted on April 16, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ Everytime I eat at Mehran, there is usually a brithday or wedding next door. Food is ok. Nothing out of the oddinary. Waiters are friendly, but shalimar still tops my list. Posted on March 23, 2007 |

★★★★☆ I have been to Mehran many times over the years, and also have eaten their catered food many times as well. They are consistently good and are known for good service and good prices. But, the food is usually pretty oily and also does cause alot of gas and many times the "runs" as several people have pointed out. Let's just put it this way, the food is tasty, but it is definitely not good for you! Posted on March 18, 2007 |

NR I attended the Rockstar 2006 Concert Dinner at Mehran Monday night and let me tell you, that was the best I had ever seen the place. The food was great and the atmosphere welcoming. Definitely worth coming back to. I think this is the bay restaurant in the Bay. Posted on June 1, 2006 |

★★★★★ On our latest vacation went there for the buffet - probably the best place we ate during our entire stay. Buffet selections were great, nihari was very good, and service pretty good also. Highly recommend. Posted on August 26, 2005 |

★★★★★ First and foremost, I would like to say that Mehran has excellent food and great customer service! From what I've heard, Mehran is now under new (75% Muslim) management. It is currently being renovated and construction should be finished around mid July-early August. (It is still open during this time.) They are also adding another banquet hall, sizzling new items to their menu and quite possibly opening a handful of new locations across the Bay Area. Stay tuned guys, Mehran may just be the next big thing. Posted on July 4, 2005 |

★★★★★ Mehran's my favorite Pakistani restaurant! I've been going to Mehran for two years, at least once a month. I feel sorry for the people who have experienced tummy aches or worse. I have never had any problems after eating there, ever. I've even purchased take out for my family to try--they enjoyed it, never got the runs. I'm thankful I haven't gotten sick from eating at other bay area Indian/Pakistani restaurants--who serve watery curries, or too oily food.
I don't think food poisoning is to blame at Mehran, it may be bodily reactions to spicy food--they make they're dishes very, very spicy! But again, they're good b/c the waiters always ask how you want your food prepared--not spicy, mild, very spicy. The portions are plentiful too, now that's customer service! Try their tandoori chicken (my favorite!) lamb/chicken vindaloo, any of the biryani plates(veggie/chicken/lamb/prawn), chicken tikka masala, punjabi lassi (sweet), mango lassi, samosas (veggie, served with a sweet chutney) They make fresh ice-cream--tasty!
They also offer lunch buffet. I wish they offered fish tandoori...
The staff is very courteous--waiters always greet brothers/sisters w/salaams, confirm w/you if everything's good. The restaurant is always clean, very well kept.
AsSalamulaikum! to Mehran staff & thank you for your hard work to keep customers satisfied. Posted on December 20, 2004 |

★★★★★ Have eaten there many many times. Food is good & varied. Desserts are also good. Paya soup on weekends with lemon added in is a big hit with me. Service has always been very courteous unlike some of the other places. Posted on September 27, 2004 |

★★★★★ I had just had a party here last weekend and the food was great. The people managing the place were very polite and courteous. Even though the owners are Pak. Christians they get their meat/chicken from Faisal Market next door which is halal. I have heard about the food quality issues..but I got great food. Posted on September 14, 2004 |

★★★★★ I have to say although I have heard several complaints about the runs at Mehran, alhumdullah I've never had a problem and the food has always been excellent. Prices are reasonable and for the most part the waiter tries to understand your needs, although they do get a bit slammed when a big crowd comes in. I look forward to eating here because the food has consistently been great. Posted on September 5, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ I think Mehran can make food that tastes really really good. However, we have nicknamed this restaurant "Meh-runs" because we've been to far too many events catered by Mehran where people have gotten severely sick. The owner doesn't seem to care either that people get sick from his food. I can understand that a caterer messes up occasionally for whatever reason, but food poisoning has happened far too many times to think its accidental. I really think they have really unhygienic cooking methods.
If you know the owner, I think you will be fine because he'll actually try, otherwise go to costco and buy the big immodium bottles.
Sad thing is that there is a real need for full-service catering in the bay area, but this one is just not worth the risk. Posted on August 9, 2004 |

★★★★★ Mehran is excellent! I got their catering services for my Nikah Ceremony and it was a great experience. Food was delicious typical Pakistani taste. It was cheap also only $8.00 per head, three main dishes and a sweet dish including salad & raaita. Everyone at the ceremony admired the food. Another thing is their on time delivery. I strongly recommend Mehran if you plan to have catering services. Posted on August 4, 2004 |
