NR Staff here not the friendliest. They think they are better than everyone else. Major attitude. Food ok. Samosas are the best along with the chicken pasty. Posted on August 25, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Food wasnt anything special. The staff were rude and treated me as if they were doing me a favor. Posted on August 14, 2011 |

★★★★☆ One of the popular places on the famous curry mile. Food taste is authentic indian and the service is always great. At the end of the meal, go on the other side in front of the restaurant for some sweets or freshly made jalebi. No alcohol is a plus, the atmosphere in the restaurant also makes me feel like I'm in Bombay (which is good). I recommend to try. Posted on June 14, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ This being my first trip to Sanan after a number of years I was very much looking forward to a treat. Unfortunately I have to echo the most recent postings. The food was exceedingly poor. The starters were mean in size, the main lamb karahi overcooked and tastless (a first for me), the mango lassi was pulp from a tin. The service seems to have deteriorated - it's not particularly nice when you are being served as though you are owed a favour by the waiting staff. Some customer service training is definitely wanting.
I think it will be unlikely that I will be visiting this establishment in the near future. Posted on April 19, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ I took some friends from out of town there as they wanted to try manchesters allegedly best curry houses. They were not impressed with the quality of the food and it made me think again - the food is consistent but many dishes taste the same. I also was a witness to shocking racist comments in Urdu from the staff, especially at the sweet counter. The managers need to eliminate this un- muslim behaviour or I won't be back. Aveage food in the restaurant - the sweets are keeping the place busy. Watch out for cream cakes that have been under the hot lights - I've had one or two that were off Posted on December 24, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Just clarification about the HMC approval. I have asked the owners and they have been very helpful. The supplier of the meat is HMC approved, but Sanam have not invited HMC to approve the site. They have chosen to remove the certificate so that customers are not confused. All meat served is Halal and is supplied by a HMC approved company. Posted on October 7, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ I used to love Sanam but then I took my husband in there recently, being originally from Manchester I wanted him to experience the food/service. We went twice the first time was in the evening. It was great and they were extremely helpful so much so my husband wanted to visit again the next day. The second time some of the waiters, amongst themselves but very loudly, were making racist comments about my husband in Urdu not realising we can understand them; I was heavily pregnant at the time and we had our small toddler with us but they put us in a table in front of the window right in the sun; on that day I am afraid my whole opinion of sanam went out of the window and we will not be visiting again. It isn't just us but also other couples we know who are reverts and/or mixed race who have not had the best service; it isn't their owners fault but they seriously need to sort out some of their staff Posted on November 23, 2005 |

★★★★★ My family have visited the restaurant for many years since the early years when my grandad set foot in the UK (around the 60's). Sanam has been the benchmark for many restaurants and their sweethouse is still the best in England. Furthermore their function hall is an ideal place for weddings and business events. Staff are welcoming and the boss is always around for a bit of hospitality. Recommend to anyone. Posted on December 24, 2004 |
