★★☆☆☆ cheap food, nice thin base pizza's and potato wedges (when fresh), good value for money, but didnt realy enjoy their chicken products. and chips taste like cardboard. Posted on August 27, 2015 |

★★★★★ If you want a mcdonald's or fast food place which is all halal. Big John's is perfect. Sometimes you want a quick lunch with the family and you dont want to spend more than a 20. Alot of nice takeaway places around, but none you can sit in. This is the hole Big Joh ns fills. We can take the kids there, eat cheap but tasty food, and get out. Prices are good. Yes of course you can get cheaper at a dingy takeaway, but sometimes those guys wont even give you paper plates! Here its like Mcdonald's. You have restrooms to use as well. And even a drive thru! Finally a halal drive thru! another thing that is great about the place is that there is quite a bit of variety. Pizza, fish and chips, burgers, samosay, and peri peri, plus more. A small selection of dessert too.
Try it and see! Posted on December 7, 2014 |

★★★★★ Move over EPC, here comes Big Johns!
Fish and Chips are very nice - some of the best in fact. The only problem is consistency: sometimes the fish is bad and chips are good. Sometimes the opposite. Sometimes they are both bad.
Lamb burgers are ok, but a little too salty.
Chicken products? Nothing to write home about - it's not on Maryland level of taste, nor KFC level of awesomeness. You don't go to Big John's for chicken...
Pizzas are quite good, (not quite pizza hut level, but better than usual halal pizza places) but I'd have to recommend going for the 6 inch individual pizzas as it's better value and quality overall.
Milkshakes are nice (available in Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla) but there's something odd about them; usually overnight thick milkshakes settle. Big John's Milkshakes don't, which makes me wonder what kind of sorcery is actually used to concoct them. Maybe it's glue?
Price wise, they are OK. More expensive than regular chicken and pizza shops, but this is more of McDonald Tier restaurant than a greasy chicken place, so it's to be expected.
Staff are well trained, friendly and approachable. Food is good overall. Drive thru and plenty of space inside to eat. All in all, this is the standard, the benchmark if you will, halal take outs need to be meeting.

★★★★☆ Not bad at all. They tried to make it mcdonalds style with pretty large location on a busy street, small car park. Pizza is also served which was pretty good, they will make it with the toppings of your choice and fresh. I will return. Posted on June 11, 2011 |
