★☆☆☆☆ Don’t go here if your not lazy. My family and I went here just for some food, I ordered some mantu, which by the way was $11.99 and each plate only came with 8 dumplings, I ended up not being full so I had to get another one which is another $11.99 AND THEY GAVE ME 7 DUMPLINGS THIS TIME, the taste of the mantu tasted like playdough and the entirety was just onions and barely any meat. nothing too crazy, I can make better food and I don’t even know how to cook, but my food doesn’t stick to the plate so my family is eating plastic the entire time we spent $96 total on a bunch of food that finally fulfilled our hunger, with $40 you can make food that can feed 8 people instead of going here and wasting your money on food that you can make better yourself. Kabob was tasty and juicy but was $18.99 for a little portion. The service was good but we had to ask the waitress took get us spoons 3 - 4 times. So We finally gave this place a try and thankfully were not turned away. The customer service was good, as always they were super busy, but sat us down quicker than expected. The food amazingly delicious, and they kept checking on us if we needed anything. We plan to visit again.

This rating is purely based on customer service because we were turned away after waiting 20 some minutes. We went on a weeknight and arrived before 8pm, after waiting for 10 minutes we were told to wait another 45 minutes until to be seated. The place was packed and there was obviously many people ahead of us. When I asked for an update after 20 minutes, the hostess said kitchen will be closed due to short-staffed, and we most likely won't get seated. I believe no customer should be turned away like this.

★★★☆☆ I ate here. Lamb kabobs are decent. Chicken and beef decent. Chapli kabob meh so so no real spices to be honest. All in all its alright nothing out of this world or anything but its decent. Don't be waiting to be shocked by some outter world kabobs cuzz it really is just basic kabobs tender and all. Posted on August 5, 2016

★★★★★ Best Afghan food in the Bay Area, possibly in America! Their Chapli kabob is to die for. Actually all their kabobs are great. Chicken and chapli are their most popular, I would recommend the 3 combo, to get a taste of them all. Their potato bolani and mantu are good as well. Started off as a hole in the wall right next door which still exists, which has less options and only cash but the food is superior. Now they have 2 other locations in Livermore and Berkeley. I would also highly recommend the Shir Birinj(Afghan ice cream with special noodles) Been going here since I was a kid and am so glad they were able to expand. Always take my guests here, especially ones visiting from afar. Note, that because of their superior food quality, they get away with sub par service. Posted on September 25, 2014

Downsides: 1. people bring their own wine bottles into the restaurant and then the servers bring out wine glasses from the back. 2. Waitresses do not greet clearly Muslim customers with salam. ★★★☆☆ Not impressed with this place. Portions are small, service is scarce, and they don't serve kubideh Kababs, which is shocking for an afghan restaurant! The afghan restaurants in Fremont are no longer a viable option for me like they used to be. Too bad. Khyber pass and Pamir in Dublin are far superior. Posted on December 7, 2012

★★★★☆ Went here recently with a party of 9 people. Had good customer service and the food was great. They give you the option of "family size servings" so you can share with the members of your party. Had the mantoo (a little too much pepper, but still good), the beef kebab (very good), the lamb and chicken kebabs were good. The Bolani (potato and leek were both good, but I liked the potato version better). Topped it off with green tea (a little watered down) and Falooda for dessert (rose ice cream and noodles topped with pistachio - very cooling and refreshing). This place has limited seating, but has a very nice interior with both booths and tables and great artwork showing scenes of Afghanistan on the walls. If you prefer take-out, there is a small hole-in-the-wall version of the same food (same owners of this place) right next door (but the take-out place only accepts cash). Posted on June 23, 2012
