★★★★☆ we ordered their beef steaks with rice. it is the same quality as hamdi's but their quantity is def more. the restuarant is very ghetto though .. it looks as if its falling apart and there is no real attention being given to the restaurant itself hence mismatched furniture. they could really spruce up the place a bit. if you are going with family, better go eat in the basement. apart for that love love love the food. ★★★★☆ Totally agree with the previous post. We ordered family platter that was good. I'm not used to the Somali food. We got an artificially tasting mango juice that no one liked. We got bananas. But we didn't get any soup. The ambiance is below average and the service was not that good. Posted on December 16, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Food was very tasty, especially the short ribs. Family platters were huge and it was served with mango juice (essentially mango pulp from a tin can and diluted with water) and a delicious starter soup. Also we were given bananas. The value for the money, was excellent. However, the service and decor, not the greatest, so only giving it a 4 stars. The servers were youngsters, looked disinterested, but were still respectful, as they allowed us to make salah downstairs. This place has plenty of potential. Posted on September 2, 2013 |

★★★★☆ The ribs are simply amazing. they also serve a free jug of mango juice and soup if you dine in. The place is not appealing for eating inside though especially if you are with family.
Update:
I've been here a couple of times more after my ininital review, and I have to agree with the person who posted above. Their customer service is horrible, as in the worst I've seen. There are young teens running the front desk and serving. They don't make eye contact when speaking to you, usually they break conversation to talk to other staffers. And they reply rudely to your questions. One time they didn't have any take out spoons or forks and i made take out so i can eat it on the road for it's convenience.
A few instances where the owner serves front desk and he has pleasant manners and customer service.
The food is 5/5
Place is 2/5

★★☆☆☆ Has some good food. Only their ribs are good. (but are not generous) Rice is not bad its okay.
Chicken sugaar is bad its so pointy and crunchy and feels like your chewing on branches sometimes.
One thing that I dislike is their horrible customer service. Waiters are young boys ages 13-17/18 and don't have good manners. Don't listen well. Sometimes rude.
Usually a clean place and the wait is kind of long, but the soup is nice to have while you wait.
If they got better waiters and gave bigger proportions on the food (meat) this restaurant would be 4 stars.
But the way it is now 2 stars.
Gotta change things up for real. Posted on October 31, 2012 |

★★★★★ The best ribs (beef) in the city! The service is good for a Somali joint, and the prices are reasonable. Posted on October 11, 2011 |
