★★☆☆☆ Pretty disappointing experience. They don't make the parathas themselves - so didn't order any. Chicken 65 and chicken tikka were disasters. Only chicken chapli kabab was good. Posted on October 7, 2021 |

★★★★★ Best Halal food in town ,Food was fresh and very delicious .Kabobs and tandoori chicken tikka was actually made in their tandoor.Menu offers a wide variety and inside atmosphere is amazing . Posted on November 27, 2018 |

NR 2-3 Times I visited and every time pathetic experience. There are are not many options for Pakistani food so I was keep going though the food is worse. One time I had very bad food poisoning and in the middle of night I was about to go to emergency situation.
This time was very worse pathetic experience that I never had in my life of 20 years living in North America.
Owner is an idiot(I wish I could call this guy worse name). This time I took my guest visiting St. Louis. We complained that served cold kababs that he couldnt digest the fact and started shout on us with abused language, and he lift his hand to hit us and he asked to leave us while we were dining. No illiterate can do and that to a Muslim doing this, never imagine and I literally cried. Allah will take this matter. In sha Allah Posted on July 31, 2018 |

★★★☆☆ We've tried the korma and biryani which were good enough. Being local to the area for a few years, we've only visited this place 3 or 4 times (versus weekly or monthly visits to others in the area), usually because a visitor wants this specific type of food. The food is really quite expensive for the less than stellar quality (really greasy; there are more bones than meat in some dishes). The naan is good.
We've never dined in so I can't comment on service other than quick carry out. The dining area is clean but we've not seen it busier than 2 tables in use. We've not been back and don't plan to return. Posted on June 11, 2017 |

★★★★☆ Had iftari here this past Ramadan. Pretty good food. The goat Korma was very tasty. The meat was very tender. Biryani and chicken were good as well. Will definitely come back here if I am in the area. Posted on July 11, 2016 |

★★★★★ We ate dinner last night at this place. Even though the place is not fancy but food was amazing. We ate chicken boti, beef koobab, Nihari, nan and Ghulam Janine. I will recommend it highly if you want good tasting food. Posted on June 14, 2015 |

★★★★★ We did a take out from the owner three years ago and liked the food very much. This year when we were passing through the area we again ordered take away and found the food to be very good. Since we never had a chance to dine in at this place, I would not comment on the service for now. Posted on August 1, 2012 |

★★★★★ Delicious food! We were on a vacation to St Louis couple of weeks ago tried their dinner buffet. It was excellent! I recommend their Biryani and Mutton Rogan Josh - Owner and I had good conversation over the food recipes. He was very open and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant Posted on May 22, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Went here a couple of weeks ago for dinner buffet. From all the good reviews I heard, I have to say I wasn't that impressed. For what you pay for they did not seem to have too many items. Taste was okay. Not bad but not great. I may come again however I think for buffet they should lower their price. Posted on February 27, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ Expensive, not tasty, and, unbelievably, not air conditioned! The buffet is $11.99 and very small! Only one dessert choice. The meat was mostly bones and barely any meat. The biryani was overspiced and so hot you couldnt taste the other flavors. As for decor, I feel they could at least paint the walls one color but instead they have multi-colored Mexican-style atmosphere, combined with fancy covered chairs in pink. We had to ask them to come refill our waters. Also, there was a group of Pakistani girls laughing for an hour straight, which was kind of annoying. It felt like a local hang-out for a few Pakistanis who may know the family. Sorry, but we know how a good restaurant should perform, why can't we simply model them? Posted on July 24, 2010 |

★★★★★ One of my favorite places in St. Louis.
You can never go wrong catering from Lal Qila.
Goat Korma is very good, I also recommend his Chicken Kebab.
They have buffet Friday nights and Saturday nights. I wish they would introduce Buffet during lunch time.
The owner has a great voice, ask him to do some Naat for you :) Posted on June 25, 2010 |

★★★★★ chicken kabob is the best
buffet too expensive Posted on March 1, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ Indo-Pak restaurants in the US is they are not always known for their service and the staff seldom have any background in the hospitality business. So for a relatively cheap place like this one, be reasonable on your expectations of service. The owner of Lal Qila is a sweet guy but don't expect everyone to be the same...
The buffet is average usually, the carryout option is the real deal. The kababs are made fresh, the tandoori chicken ir generous and well made and the naan's are made in a real clay oven and taste good. The biryani is hit or miss.
I give this place 3 stars due to the average dine-in experience and most curries are way too greasy for my liking!
But if you stick to the kabab's then this place is really worth it!

★★★★★ One of the best foods in town. The interior decor is of a former Mexican restaurant and has a Mexican fiesta tone to it, but who cares, the food is fresh, great, and the price is excellent Posted on September 7, 2009 |

★★★★★ I went to this place couple of day ago, and loved the interior decor, makes you feel like you're back home. The food was delecious and the service was great. On the weekends they have more meat items than veges. Which is good, Defenitely will go their again. Posted on August 21, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Food
taste-excellent
Menu choices-3 meat,3 veg and 2 rice dishes, +appetizers(pakoras),dessert-1 .Pita bread excelllent and fresh.
service-4/5
comments:quality and menu variety not bad for price but would be even better with couple of more entree' dishes.Seating environment and arragement was average but clean, may be a problem on weekends.
owner Mr.Riaz is courteous and was personally going to each table (4 filled @ that time) to ask about food and guests feedback.
Cons:restroom-not clean,space/seating may be a problem on weekends(I went on weeknight) but delicious food is worthwile waiting for few minutes.

★★★★★ The Owners of Al-Riaz Catering have expended their business and opened Lal Qila in the same shopping center. Now they have a place to sit down and eat. They have dinner buffet everyday and it is the best. Eventhough they were packed on the weekend, their serve was incredible. This is the place to go for great food and low prices.
