Authentic Halal Services (AHS) is a non-profit organization which certifies individual blessers as well as slaughter / processing plants which provide Halal products to the Islamic community. AHS, by certifying both the blesser and the plant, assures you that all meats which carry the AHS label or certificate were blessed by a Muslim stating Tasmiyya and Takbir according to Islamic Rites. During these rites the animals were slaughtered by means of a sharp knife: cutting through the skin, trachea, esophagus and major blood arteries to result in thorough bleeding of the carcass in preparation for dressing and evisceration. This meat has not been mixed with other species or other types of meat. These animals were examined before slaughter and immediately thereafter by a USDA inspector and were found free of diseases and are suitable for Muslim consumption. AHS adheres to all Islamic guidelines and Muslim traditions. All meat products are retailed with strict adherence to the Texas Halal Statute (September 2003), which protects consumers from intentional mislabeling or false advertising of products. We recommend that anyone interested become versed with the new Act. AHS works with blessers and plants in multiple states (California, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New York and Texas). AHS managers inspect each plant a minimum of twice a year. The blessers inspect the plants each time they use the plant which can be as often as twice per week. In order to maintain the highest level of review AHS works with local Imams and Muslim community leaders. In special cases AHS has Fatwas from mosques and religious centers such as Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt. Processing and production techniques, (following the practice of Sunah teachings), were reviewed with scholars at the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the world's oldest Islamic university and research center. This highest authority on Islamic practices issued a FATWA in regards to the processing of chicken. AHS Blessers come from many different countries: Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, and Turkey. Anyone interested in reviewing and witnessing our Zabiha process is welcome.
