★★★★★ The atmosphere was great. Seating can accommodate two, four, six or more in one party. The most important difference between this place & other competitors can easily justified this place to be better than the others once you know that:
1- they are located in well established area in Irvine, CA:
2- they use strictly natural ingredients, no cans nothing frozen: and
3- they serve all their food fresh.
We were three adults and two kids where we felt the food freshness & tastiness. We ordered & shared NINE different items between us. It was actually priced right.
This was our first visit but definitely there will be more to come to try the WHOLE menu.
Next visit will post our pictures. Posted on July 31, 2018 |

★★★★★ I've been to this place ever since they opened after taking over previous Pakistani restaurant.
I love their food. They've a wide variety of dishes from the Levant region of Middle East such as Manakeesh, Shawarma, Sheesh Tawook etc. Dishes are tasty, fresh and made to order. Owners are genuinely nice and hospitable people. Good restaurant, run by good people in a good location!
Always had a good experience at Olive Oil. Planning to return soon, Insha'Allah.
P.S: This restaurant lies in the business district right behind Islamic Center of Irvine (ICOI). You walk up to this place from the masjid in about 10 to 15 mins. Posted on September 19, 2018 |

★★★☆☆ There's a lot I like about this place -- the place has great atmosphere, it's super clean, basically the entire kitchen wears hijab, they prepared the food quickly.
But, the chicken shawarma I had was incredibly average. I love shawarma, and had mind-blowingly good shawarma just this last weekend, in Anaheim. But here, the shawarma was bland. The bread was bland. The sauce was bland. The toppings were bland. And it wasn't at all filling. And at $8 (before tax), I felt the shawarma a bit overpriced.
I would still go here again, but not for the shawarma. I want to try their Manakish (flatbreads), and it's possible their plates are fantastic.
This isn't a place I would drive an hour to visit, but if you're in the area and in the mood for halal food, give this place a shot. Posted on August 22, 2018 |
