The owners are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status.. From the owner: 'We have an all halal menu.'
Caf Istanbul was founded by veteran restaurateur Erol Girgin, and has become one of DFW's most popular dining destination representing Turkish cuisine. Cafe Istanbul's unique appeal is a result of a menu selection of Turkish authentic food recipes. Since Cafe Istanbul is the only restaurant representing Turkish & Anatolian Cuisine in Dallas, every single item in the menu is prepared in house using only fresh ingredients in a healthy and natural environment. WARNING: Belly dancing on selected nights, call in advance if you wish to avoid.

Went here for the first time and tried their Adana Kebab. I was told that everything on the menu is Halal. Food was average and nothing special. What threw me off was how expensive they are. I paid $15 for a small portion of rice and 1 small kebab cut in half. This is ridiculous of the amount they are charging and the portion you are getting. Based upon my experience I will go somewhere else.
If the owner stated that the menu is "all halal", then he is lying. The only halal menu item is the sucuk (Turkish beef sausage). Nothing else is halal. Not only do they serve alcohol, some of the menu items also contain alcohol, i.e. at least one of the salads has an alcohol-based dressing. We used to eat here a lot until we realized it was not halal. Be careful eating here, and ask questions about what you are ordering. The food is okay, but I've had better Turkish food. It is very expensive.
Delicious food! i do love the sitting area! they say they have belly dancers at night! :(
I dont know if its Halal or not! But this place is clean! the food is tasty! Kinda Pricy!
This restaurant should not be on Zabihah. None of things are halal (Bale Dance, Beer etc) at this location. Only Halal meet claimed by owner make this place Halal among all other non-Halal items. Really?
