Not all the chicken on the menu is halal, but anything on the bone is in fact halal. It's KFC so your expectations can't be too high. Good overall, not sure it's worth visiting twice.

I went to the KFC at coit road and spoke to them. The person I spoke to name was David who was the lead shift. He showed me the halal certificate and told me that this store carry machine slaughtered halal food. It's halal (not hand slaughtered, which I don't expect KFC would have it anyways nor I think do have all Pakistani/Indian halal restaurants in US). These are the details! Original recipe chicken is halal Krispy extra Krispy is halal Spicy grilled is halal For mashed potatoes, always ask White pepper gravy coz that is halal , brown gravy is not good as it has beef broth in it. Overall if u ordering from their menu board, these numbers 2,5,7, 9, 10 are good. Big buckets with chicken with bone is halal. Nashville hot chicken with bone on is halal. Non-Halal item: Popcorn chicken ( boneless), chicken tenders (boneless) and small hot wings ( this is the only meat with bone item which is not halal) are not halal. This does not include the big wings that come with chicken pieces. Kentucky grilled is not halal. In Kids meal, drum sticks are only halal Potato Wedges are halal but conform the fryer first. All above according to him is only available at these stores in Dallas not in all other KFC stores 2301 East 14 st 1504 Custer Road 8609 Ohio Dr 3040 old Denton road 1776 belt line road 6301 coit road 4117 north jersey lane This meat comes from Mar-Jac poultry LLC ( plant # 517). The meat of MarJac is certified halal by International institute of Islamic thought ( IIIT) who inspect their plant every 3 months. This is what I was told and I relayed the info to u guys. I am not responsible for any discrepancies though.

I've had real chicken, and KFC is not it. There's better halal chicken out there.

I have contacted the Tyson rep. I was told that it is a person that say bismillah however the person operating the machine is not Muslim. So it turns out Tyson did not change any of its setup, they just added a person to say bismillah who really isn't connected to the cutting of the animal. It's similar to just saying bismillah yourself when the chicken hits your plate. The problem is tger

I have been wanting to go here for a while now, but have not found the time. I just want to start out by saying that I am NOT the owner nor do I have any relation to the owners of this establishment in any way. I'm just a well informed Muslim when it comes to restaurant operation when Zabihah meat is involved. I'm not too sure on the ruling when it comes to "tape recorded" slaughtering of meat. For me it's still up in the air and until I can get further clarification on whether that is permissible, I will hold off on ordering from here. In response to DesiChick's inquiry with KFC: KFC will not supply Zabihah Meat to any of its locations. Many KFC locations are individually franchised and the respective owners of each franchise make the decision to purchase Zabihah on the side to cater to the Muslim population. In majority of cases, KFC corporate will have no record of Zabihah meat being used at particular franchised locations. The only record they will have is the meat they supply to their chains, which in fact come from Tyson. So while the results of your inquiry are correct, it does NOT necessarily mean this particular franchise is not providing Zabihah meat to its patrons.

I don't know if the chicken is 'zabihah' or not, but the staff told me that the original style fried chicken was halal. I don't really like fried chicken so I opted for the new grilled chicken, which was very good, though probably not halal. That aside, overall, this is a bog standard fast food experience - though the restaurant is cleaner than most fast food establishments and one often finds young muslim families enjoying a meal here.

As other members, I have called KFC and was told the chicken is supplied by Tyson. Tyson provides halal? What is the certification and in what manner is the animal slaughtered but is it zabihah? For those who are who are looking for 'zabihah', it is sadly not the case. Whenever there is a partial 'halal' menu, one needs to be very careful.

We were very excited to find out that this KFC was serving halal chicken since it's close to work and home. After a visit or two, we found out from the new co-owner that they order all the chicken from Sysco ompany. They just wanted to drive more business from our community so didn't take the halal status off from the selective menu. Please be very careful and post if you find anything otherwise.
