A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises. From the management: 'Mamouns is committed to serving quality food using quality ingredients. As part of that commitment, all the meat we serve is certified halal. This means that the meat does not contain any pork or pork product (including gelatin and shortenings) and that the animal has not been treated with any antibiotics or growth hormones and has been fed a natural diet that does not contain any animal by-products. Simply stated, when eating halal meat, you know exactly what you're getting: fresh quality meat without any additives or preservatives.'
Mamoun's has been serving high quality Middle Eastern Food since it first opened its doors to the public in 1971. It is the oldest falafel restaurant in New York and one of the first Middle Eastern establishments in the United States. What sets us apart from other Falafel restaurants is our rich tradition and history as well as our commitment to excellence. Our philosophy is simple: authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine served in a traditional environment. Everything we serve is made from scratch using only the freshest natural ingredients, the finest imported spices, and our signature recipes.

This place is not Halal place if u looking for halal dont spend ur time skip this place
Food is great, but prices are a bit steep. Sandwiches are $5-$6 without a drink. Food is tasty and their drinks are really good. Recommend the mint lemonade and mango juice. Their platters are way too small for the price. I wouldn't even go with them, just because of how small they are. About $11-$12 each and do not fill you up. They are very flavorful and meat is cooked well, but again prices are too high. Getting two sandwiches for the same price is better in my opinion. Lower star for price.
Great, clean fantastic place The falafel is good, hummus is good The prices are cheap Kufta Kabab is lamp meat which so tender and Shawrma too of lamp and it is very tender . I Recommend you to go All food are Halal as described by the workers who speak Arabic
The food is alright. Most rates are reasonable. A small cup of Humus is like $ 2.50. There is hardly any space to sit. Also, it is self-service. Thus, no tips are involved. Only street parking available.
So happy that we have a Mamouns in NJ. The food is great and unlike its NYC branch there is room to sit down and enjoy your meal. Beware, the hot sauce will set your mouth on fire!
The famous Mamoun's Falalfel Restaurant, a New York City legend which has been featured in the book "1000 Places To See Before You Die", has finally made its way over to the Garden State.
