I recently shifted from Mississauga, I went there a month ago to get meat. Bought minced beef (which the guy said was a week old, but when I got home and read the label it said it was make 1st March), chicken breasts (which had no label, and tasted fine) and a pack of frozen kababs (I was so excited about it since I hadn't had meat in a month. But when I started cooking it it had the most horrible smell, I checked on the box and it said January 2014). That's insane! How can they sell such old stuff. I had to throw it away! Please never buy meat or meat products from here. And to top it off the bill just said item no. 1, item no. 2 and so on, so I wasn't even able to tell how much they charged for what. I got a box of salami, spice mix and a pack of rice (other than meat stated above). My bill was $ 66. If I had means of transportation I would have definitely gone back to them and asked for an explanation. Worst experience ever!
I did the sacrificial lamb from this place. When calling the shopkeeper quoted a price, which was OK. Upon arriving at the store to make the purchase, the shopkeeper indicated that there would be a surcharge for cutting the meat. Surprised by this...I asked why. The shopkeeper stated that the 'butcher' charges him to cut the meat. I returned back a couple of days later and found out that the shopkeeper himself cut the meat. He is NOT a professional butcher and rushed through the cutting process. He did not separate any of the meat, just tossed everything together. I guess during EID, everyone wants to make a $$ and that is the way! Disappointing!
