My Friends, cafe divan is halal. We only serve halal meat and I can vouch for that. Also if Need be I will supply you with a certificate. As a restaurant we do serve alcohol, but it has nothing to do with us serving halal meat. Please let me know I anybody has any questions.
It is not halal. My brothers and sisters, this place is not halal. They do not have certificate. And they told me they use overcounter meat. Also they serve alcohol. These are \"secular turks\" they call themselves.
Best Turkish restaurant in DC - highly recommend it.
this is the worst place I ever seen. I am a turkish man. When I was travelling to turkey with my family, I went this place. food was not too bad but waiters were really rude. They behave like as an idiot, please do not go this place. these people are tarnishing hospitality of turkish people.
The food was great, and so was the service. However, it was definitely expensive. I don't agree with the single dollar sign ($) listed for price. I'd give it 3.
Neat and well-designed restaurant in the DC metro area this location has great food great service and a great atmosphere only downside is that alcohol is served on premise.
I went here the night before Eid for a quiet dinner with some friends and was surprised how busy and large the restaurant was. We were greeted by a hostess who was quiet awkward and we figured she was just new. She took us to what she said was a table for 4 but turned out it only had space for 2. Then she showed us a table for 4 and with a window and we agreed and waited 5 minutes while they cleaned. When it was ready she said we couldn't have it and it was for someone else. She finally took us back to the other side of the restaurant and sat us. About 10 minutes later someone came to take our drinks order. The table behind is was then seated. We were ready to order a short while later but the waitress was nowhere to be found. The other table had just placed their order with their server, but ours still had not come. Finally about 20 minutes after sitting down we placed our order. The portions were small -- compared to other places--but perfect for me. As we were eating and talking, however, I was alerted to the cockroach next to me and killed it. When the hostess (not server) came by I asked her to take it away and she just said ok. It was funny because I saw the same thing written in a yelp review and figured it was a one off event, but it happened to us as well. The server finally came and I asked for a new napkin because I had killed a roach with my previous one and she didn't act surprised. Overall I doubt I would return again.
I went here a few times a couple years ago when I worked near there. I got the Doner kabob and Lamb/chicken kabob sandwiches multiple times, and they were great and were ~$8. It was not that filling, but VERY good. I also got a rotisserie lamb special once (~$18) and it was one of the best foods I had ever had in my life. Why not 5 stars? Price; even though it is in a expensive area, it should be a bit cheaper. Portions; their sandwiches should be a couple of dollars more but significantly larger. Alcohol; typical Turkish folks that have a full menu of alcohol, but if you order carryout, you'll never see alcohol. I never dined-in, but the place is very nice looking.
very nice Place and atmosphere. Pricey i think because of the location and relatively small portions. good sweets
A cool, fresh looking cafe in Georgetown. Unfortunately, the food was not that good. I went during lunch and it was pretty busy. It's possible they could have been having an off day. Prices are pretty expensive.
Very clean, and when I asked the staff whether the food was zabihah, he said yes without hesitation. I ordered the sucuk pide, which was very good, although a little small. The kabob dishes and other entrees I saw people ordering looked a lot better, although they were more expensive. The only drawback is that place serves alcohol and has a wine list on your table. Other than that, it was great!
