Muslim Halal Meat & Livestock

A note to visitors: if you wish to purchase fresh meat here, make sure you request for the Muslim butcher to carry out the slaughter.

I was visiting Singapore and bought fresh chicken and rabbit here. The rabbit was slaughtered by non-halal methods. Very brutal method, where the butcher just sliced off the live rabbit's feet first before killing the thing. I loved the meat, but was not sure if it was halal. Gy the way, A+ on service -- very friendly. And A++ on meat quality :)

The fun thing about this place is that you can view everything--the killing, plucking, skinning, etc. being done by expert hands. You have to ask for the halal butcher. There are 1-2 Chinese butchers who kill by non-halal methods (such as wringing the neck). The store next door sells snake meat ... prepared by skinning the snake alive (ouch!) I like shopping here for super-fresh chicken.
