Who cares what reason they established this location, thats between them and Allah (swt). Its amazingly convenient, have proper imams and huffaz leading the salaat, fulltime madresa, open to everyone pretty much all of the time and the place is beautifully done with a nice mini wudu area to boot. Hard to believe it was the locker storage area for the building. Great idea especially for a street full of apartment building with thousands of Muslims living therein.
House of Allah, but somehow politics always finds it's way into this community. Huge masjid Darus salam is down the street. If even 5% of 65 building came for salat, it would be too small. Musallah is a start, but dawah should be on going
I lived at 65 Thorncliffe in the early 1990's and remember going to the mosque meant going all the way to Donlands and Danforth to attand Madinah Masjid. The local brothers then established a massulla then a Masjid near where Iqbal's restaurant is now located. I paid a visit to 65 Thorncliffe a few weeks ago and was delighted to learn that a prayer space had be established on site. This space is a blessing for the many who don't have the time to attend prayers at the large mosque or are elderly and have trouble making the trip to the mosque doe to health or poor weather.
Typical Gujarati musallah. Only opened to spite Darus salaam. Main objective to promote and facilitate political agendas.
