Melzy sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience in your first and only visit to ICM. I can tell you as a frequent member that you shouldn't assume that those "some people" are everyone that attends the center. The ICM is a fast growing, well organized and truly kid friendly Islamic Center. There are two entrances, back entrance which has the main parking lot and front entrance which allows for street parking. The center has a large population and is accommodating although its just a single family home for now. The ICM has purchased the home next door and are in current planning stages, along with fundraising, to build a new large center occupying both properties, Ins ha-allah.

Growing mosque located in Melville / Suffolk County. Has a good community, mostly Arabs, with great weekend programs for children. Also have many Halaqas for adults and different learning programs. Mosque is clean, and comfortable and a decent size. They also organize great events for Eid.

I have been going to the Islamic Center of Melville for about 10 years now. It has a great community atmosphere, there is always an Imam present for prayer. They have a wonderful Sunday school program that my children attend. They do events for children during Eid, and there is Iftar during Ramadan EVERY Saturday and Sunday. I highly recommend the mosque to anyone that wants to feel like they are part of a large muslim family.

Not very organized and the teenagers and kids run wild. One entrance for both men and women and then inside is separate prayer area. Came to break my fast one Ramadan and some people were talking bad about my Indian friend in Arabic.. It is sad because I really enjoyed their set up and food for Ramadan. I haven't been back since.
